@guiniol:matrix.orgguiniolAnd you've never been limited by the eMMC space?19:41:07
@k900:0upti.meK900Not that I remember19:41:28
@guiniol:matrix.orgguiniolI need to think about it. I was thinking 2 HDDs, but maybe I can get 4 SSDs instead and not completely break the bank. Fully silent would be a plus since it won't be in my own place19:42:58
@k900:0upti.meK900I'm running mine with bcachefs on four bargain bin WD Green drives19:43:29
@k900:0upti.meK900And no active cooling19:43:37
@k900:0upti.meK900It's fine19:43:39
@guiniol:matrix.orgguiniolM.2 drives?19:46:33
@k900:0upti.meK900Yes19:46:43
@guiniol:matrix.orgguiniolI just took a look at M.2 prices and I don't think I can do that (I need 16T of useable space and a single 8T SSD is already more than 2x 16T HDD...), so I'd need a m.2 to sata adapter19:50:27

@lotte:chir.rsLotte (it/its)/Cinny (she/her)i think for large ssd storage pools you’d use u.2 instead of m.2, no?09:30:59
@lotte:chir.rsLotte (it/its)/Cinny (she/her)but that requires a server u.2 backplane09:31:14
@commentator2.0:elia.gardenRutile (Commentator2.0) feel free to pingyeah, u.2 is preferred, as it still talks pcie but has a lot more space (and hence redundency + heat transfer surface) available, though esp consumer mainboards do not support that09:42:28
@lotte:chir.rsLotte (it/its)/Cinny (she/her)you can probably find pcie HBAs though09:44:37
@yuka:yuka.devYureka (she/her)git.lix.systems is giving me error 50010:36:53

@neobrain:matrix.orgneobrainJust curious, how often does the docs page get synchronised, or is it a manual process? My critically important typo fix (/s) doesn't seem to show up yet10:48:11
@helle:tacobelllabs.nethelle (just a stray cat girl)erm, "not since 2.92" for the nightly you mean, it is a todo item to automate it, oops10:48:37
@helle:tacobelllabs.nethelle (just a stray cat girl)not mine technically, other then that I keep being the one annoyed at doc issues10:48:50
@helle:tacobelllabs.nethelle (just a stray cat girl)let me make sure we have a bug filed for it and if not, file one after I am doing with some chores10:51:40

@522_:catgirl.cloud0x4fbb09 it/its ⛯✇ΘΔhas anyone ran into problems with forcing agenix to use lix? the module doesn't seem to do that, but https://github.com/xerz-one/agelix/ seems to work. any known risks?12:09:54
@522_:catgirl.cloud0x4fbb09 it/its ⛯✇ΘΔ(looking at completely removing cppnix from my system, and agenix and nixos-option are the 2 things that still use it.. i never use nixos-option so i could just disable that ig)12:11:43
@nazarewk:matrix.orgkdn

any idea why would Lix build fail on my Mac Mini M2? got this (and 2 more similar) test errors on 2.94.0:

lix>  58/139 lix:installcheck / functional-nix-shell-basic                               FAIL             2.18s   exit status 1

@nazarewk:matrix.orgkdnsame on 2.93.315:37:10
@nazarewk:matrix.orgkdn* same on 2.93.3, funnily enough this is just a rebuild of the 2.93.3 after nixpkgs update15:37:56
@whispers:catgirl.cloudwhispers (it/fae)

i haven't needed any workarounds, mine just Does That by default (and has had no issues)

@whispers:catgirl.cloudwhispers (it/fae) though notably i don't use the flake, i just manually import overlay.nix and module.nix from npins 16:51:44
@whispers:catgirl.cloudwhispers (it/fae) * though notably i don't use the flake, i just manually import overlay.nix and module.nix from npins. no clue if that changes anything 16:52:05
