| Hey Everyone, I'd like to request help and hope this is the right place to ask. ProblemI've been encountering a cmake error when trying to switch to a new generation (just updates to packages from updated nixpkgs), and am aware this is being tracked here, but I'm wondering what I can do right now. Because, frankly, I can't update any of my packages as long as I get this error. And I can imagine that many users are facing this issue. The error in short:
What I've triedI've tried to use a overlay for capnproto, but even though the overlay is seen by nix repl, it's not being applied. After trying for an hour last weekend, I gave up on that route. Any advice? Thanks in advance! | 14:27:34 | |

| tobiasvandriessel can you share your config in how you use Lix? | 14:33:13 | |
| Sure thing! Let me start a thread here. | 14:35:25 | |
| this is not nixos-hardware | 14:39:07 | |
| 😭 | 14:39:10 | |
| https://discourse.nixos.org/t/cant-get-nixos-x-to-work-on-a-raspberry-pi-with-dsi-display/44532 | 14:40:20 | |
| Flake input
output:
| 14:40:27 | |
| Yes it is | 14:41:00 | |
| And I know flakes are part of a hot debate, but for better or worse, I've always used it | 14:41:12 | |
| There is no "hardware.raspberry-pi" in nixpkgs | 14:41:12 | |
| they have reimplemented it | 14:41:29 | |
| nixos-rasperry-bi | 14:41:38 | |
| * | 14:41:42 | |
| * | 14:41:50 | |
| So another questionable repo with vendor stuff | 14:41:53 | |
| Cool | 14:41:54 | |
| Great | 14:41:56 | |
| yea... | 14:42:01 | |
| well | 14:42:45 | |
| does mainline have a driver for that Waweshare DSI display | 14:43:01 | |
| Possibly | 14:43:17 | |
| You'd have to check | 14:43:20 | |
| But it's very likely using one of the like three display controllers everything else is | 14:43:35 | |
| And DSI is at least somewhat of a standard | 14:43:46 | |
| Do you usually start a thread here for replying or do you just reply in-line? | 14:49:11 | |
| Don't use threads | 14:49:37 | |
| They are extremely inconsistent between clients | 14:49:57 | |
