hexa | Using morph currently, together with niv, and there are two things that I'm currently lacking:
- CI that creates pull requests that update niv repositories with proper commit messages (
git log --oneline …)
- Carrying patches on top of a niv source without having to maintain a fork and having to rebase that regularly
I've seen the CI part with flakes, but I don't think I want to go there yet.

hexa | Does anyone solve these somehow? | 00:42:11 |
andi- | I have a trivial systemd timer that runs niv update && ci.sh where ci.sh just builds all the servers and pushes them into a binary cache... I usually just niv update whenever I look at the repo and then all the paths are already cached. | 00:43:30 |
hexa | Yup, could shell script my way out of the CI part | 00:45:36 |
andi- | Logs in a journal, you control retention and interval. I just never want a system to have write access to the repo or have my GH repo accept PRs as it isn't authorative | 00:48:19 |
hexa | right, I wouldn't mind if selfhosted Git/CI did that | 01:25:56 |
hexa | given that I'd still have to review and accept the changes | 01:26:07 |

Jonas Chevalier | hexa: https://github.com/knl/niv-updater-action if you use GitHub Actions | 13:50:54 |
Jonas Chevalier | that just sends a PR to your repo | 13:51:14 |
Jonas Chevalier | use a PAT so the CI gets triggered | 13:52:15 |
Jonas Chevalier | the CI builds and pre-populates cachix | 13:52:36 |
Jonas Chevalier | then all you have to do is merge if it's green :) | 13:52:46 |
hexa | Thanks, looking | 13:54:16 |

teto | I used to develop nixops with the libvirtd plugin. Haven't touched it the past 2 years, how can I run nixops + its libvirtd from a flake ideally ? any example around. | 11:01:23 |
