ixxie | I've never worked with a serious production deployment with NixOS; I'm trying to get a rough idea of how typical enterprise setups may look like.
Since a lot of services can be configured directly on NixOS, its tempting to try to e.g. configure a database directly on a NixOS machine.
But since often deployments would need to be very dynamic, I imagine you may prefer using Kubernetes.
So is it typical to do a stack like:
- Deploy Tool (e.g. Colmena)
- Base NixOS Fleet
- Declaratively Configured Kube Cluster
- Containerized Services
I guess in this way the last layer doesn't have to be configured with NixOS at all?

princedimond | may not be the best setup for a large enterprise but i would check out this project... https://github.com/logandonley/fleet ... im begining my own nix deployment journey and this project (using colmena) ticks a lot of boxes for me | 20:50:01 |
