If we feel it would be helpful I can ask a few other communities who might have been doing the program for longer for their approach to it. a reasonable policy might be something like:
- You have to suggest ideas for a Nix/OS project or Nix-Community Project that otherwise wouldn't get worked on.
- But it's fine to submit a idea for a Nix Project with a commercial touch if a potential participant specifically suggests it (as long as it fits the other criteria like being OSS and closely related to the nix-community are given)

 Jonas Chevalier | There is a question of what falls within the scope of the project, but overall I think the focus should be on finding capable mentors, and more importantly that the students are having a good experience and hopefully become our star contributors of tomorrow.
