hey, does anyone here own an xbox elite controller? I am having trouble getting the right driver/configuration. I used a driver called xow that successfully detected the controller, but I couldn't get it to detect the extra paddle buttons on the bottom, as it was treating it as a standard xbox controller
I don't own one, but looking at the source code, xow is old and never added support for them (same as xone).
Linux's default xpaddoes support it since 6.1. xpadneo supports them too.

@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkIs it a good idea to install Wine when running Lutris ? It keeps complaining about not having a system installed wine package.11:09:22
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkBut it seems to work fine without11:09:25

Probably can't hurt if you just want the notifications to go away, but if you do, check if lutris tries to use the system wine by default suddenly. Most games won't start with normal wine.

@supersamus02:matrix.org@supersamus02:matrix.orgLutris assumes that if you have Wine installed, then you also have its dependencies installed system-wide. NixOS doesn't work like that, so that warning means nothing here.11:13:48

So... It would be better to just ignore the warning, and then move on? Because some games might not work

SuperSamus: Wrote the better answer. I just was annoyed by the notifications, installed wine, and my games didn't launch anymore XD
11:15:22
@supersamus02:matrix.org@supersamus02:matrix.orgWhich WIne?11:15:41
@lachsak:estival.eu@lachsak:estival.euIf you do, just check your default wine runner in lutris.11:15:53
@supersamus02:matrix.org@supersamus02:matrix.orgThere are different versions of it. 11:15:54

No, what I meant is, apparently if you install a wine version system-wide, lutris just uses that new one as the defautl runner. Games don't run well with normal wine
11:18:13
@supersamus02:matrix.org@supersamus02:matrix.org I used wineWowPackages.stagingFull on many games without issues... 11:18:33
@lachsak:estival.eu@lachsak:estival.euI just installed wine to get rid of the notifications that I don't have wine installed11:18:33

I think that's the problem. Lutris assumes that you use their custom proton ge version by default
11:19:37
@lachsak:estival.eu@lachsak:estival.euHonestly, I don't know a whole lot about wine versions. I just wanted to chime in and tell about a beginner mistake I made, so that others don't have to repeat it11:20:47
