@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgsteam doesn't even run on wayland natively yet22:21:53
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deyeah I meant maybe I need to enable xwayland in a config for stuff to happen correctly22:22:26
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgah, yeah22:22:31
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgwhich compositor are you using?22:22:36
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deI have it enabled though22:22:47
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deI'm on KDE Plasma622:23:00
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.org hmm, okay
do the millimeter and pixel dimensions given by xrandr correspond to your physical ones?
22:24:19
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.denice22:24:50
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deno they dont22:24:53
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orghow exactly? are the pixel dimensions by xrandr by chance exactly half of the actual ones on each axis?22:25:44
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.org otherwise, I guess you could try playing around in arandr to see if you can convince it to have the right resolution lol 22:26:40
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.de
In reply to @multisn8-idk:matrix.org
how exactly? are the pixel dimensions by xrandr by chance exactly half of the actual ones on each axis?
no they're quite bigger
22:27:00
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgok that's a new one, haven't heard of that yet22:27:14
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.de5136 x 162022:27:43
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgyou only have 1 screen, right?22:28:11
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deno this is the external one22:28:22
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgaaaah, hmmm, what are the actual pixel and physical dimensions of your internal one?22:28:46
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgiirc xrandr combines them all into one large screen22:28:57
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.de2256x1504+0+022:29:10
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgalright, then one last question: how does your screen layout look like?22:29:29

@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.org aktaboot: So not 100% scaling then... 22:31:38
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deit was 100% on the screen I was using, sorry didn't double check on the other one 😅22:32:26
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.de* it was 100% on the display I was using, sorry didn't double check on the other one 😅22:32:38
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.org that doesn't quite match up, interesting. 2256 * 1.5 + 1920 results in 5304, not 5136
my rough guess would be that there's weird play between wayland and xwayland going on. wayland scaling basically works such that buffers are rendered at x times the size, and iirc xwayland couldn't handle that well.
sway just ended up marking this as wontfix(TM) https://github.com/swaywm/sway/issues/5548
idk about plasma though
22:34:00
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgi doubt this is nixos-specific though22:34:40

@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.deyeah, and changing with arandr/xrandr didn't help aswell22:36:03
@multisn8-idk:matrix.org@multisn8-idk:matrix.orgqwq out of ideas then22:36:13
@aktaboot:tchncs.de@aktaboot:tchncs.denp thanks a lot! :)22:36:42
