This is true. I should get around to unifying. I'm just really enamored with the idea of having a HM config across all my machines (which might not all be NixOS) 100% independent from NixOS itself.
I completely forgot that I wanted to write this

@k900:0upti.meK900But you can still kinda do that11:04:15
@k900:0upti.meK900If you have a HM config as a module11:04:20
@k900:0upti.meK900You can import it standalone or into a NixOS config11:04:27
@x10an14:matrix.orgx10an14I'm vaguely aware of this, but I haven't deep dived into leveraging nixos's HM module, or "connecting them" as to separately instantiated configurations (and if so, which of the myriad(?) of alternative ways). But thank you for ensuring I'm aware =) 11:09:09
@k900:0upti.meK900Finally15:03:15
@k900:0upti.meK900All the yuzus are working again15:03:20

@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanHello! I'm trying to play Minecraft, but for some reason, when I have any FPS lower or higher than 144 (my display refresh rate), I just get a black screen. This gets really annoying, because it starts to flicker. I'm using an Nvidia GPU (gtx 1060 6gb), I don't think desktop matters (happens on both KDE and Gnome, both Wayland). I have a dual monitor setup with different refresh rates (same res, 144hz on my gaming monitor and 60hz on my secondary monitor)15:41:52
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.org Demoman: Try to disable VRR 16:39:04
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgSmells like the monitor can't do it properly16:39:15
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanHow do I do that?16:41:18
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanWorks just fine in Windows, so I think it's a Linux thing16:41:27
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgI think there was an Xorg setting?16:41:33
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgHm16:41:34
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanWell, I'm using Wayland 16:43:00
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanAlso, it only applies to the game itself. I can see it having a black screen when I'm out of the game16:43:45
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanNot the entire monitor16:43:53
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgInteresting16:44:12
@k900:0upti.meK900My guess would be it's some Nvidia thing16:44:35

Probably in the settings for your DE
16:45:54
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanI can't find anything about disabling VRR, and I don't think my monitor is even Gsync17:29:31
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanOnly abt enabling17:29:40
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanDownload Screencast_20240129_184341.webm17:44:51
@pusekatt:norge.chatDemomanVideo if you're curious. Don't play if youre sensitive to flickering lights17:45:02
