haysidney | But yeah, for my use case the steam flatpak is kinda broken because of that. If I convert ~/.var and ~/.local/share/flatpak to fuse mounts instead of symlinks it works, but I’m not a huge fan of fuse. I wish it just didn’t mess with my symlinks and/or gave me an option to choose where it points to so I could point it at my persistent storage | 20:09:25 |
haysidney | I’m not a flatpak expert tho. Idk what magic flatpak is trying to pull off under the hood. | 20:13:20 |

littlejohn (jcray) | hey, does anyone here own an xbox elite controller? I am having trouble getting the right driver/configuration. I used a driver called xow that successfully detected the controller, but I couldn't get it to detect the extra paddle buttons on the bottom, as it was treating it as a standard xbox controller | 03:01:42 |
K900 | AFAIK those extra paddles are handled by firmware | 07:31:43 |
K900 | And can't actually be mapped as separate inputs | 07:31:51 |
littlejohn (jcray) | oh, I mean they weren't detected as inputs at all. normally they should be equivalent to A,B,X,Y | 16:00:09 |

Linux's default xpaddoes support it since 6.1. xpadneo supports them too. | 09:55:17 |

@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk | Is it a good idea to install Wine when running Lutris ? It keeps complaining about not having a system installed wine package. | 11:09:22 |
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk | But it seems to work fine without | 11:09:25 |
@lachsak:estival.eu | In reply to @eyjhb:eyjhb.dk Is it a good idea to install Wine when running Lutris ? It keeps complaining about not having a system installed wine package. Probably can't hurt if you just want the notifications to go away, but if you do, check if lutris tries to use the system wine by default suddenly. Most games won't start with normal wine. | 11:13:22 |
@supersamus02:matrix.org | Lutris assumes that if you have Wine installed, then you also have its dependencies installed system-wide.
NixOS doesn't work like that, so that warning means nothing here. | 11:13:48 |

@supersamus02:matrix.org | Which WIne? | 11:15:41 |
@lachsak:estival.eu | If you do, just check your default wine runner in lutris. | 11:15:53 |
@supersamus02:matrix.org | There are different versions of it. | 11:15:54 |

@lachsak:estival.eu | In reply to @supersamus02:matrix.org Weird... maybe you used the same prefix while changing the version? No, what I meant is, apparently if you install a wine version system-wide, lutris just uses that new one as the defautl runner. Games don't run well with normal wine | 11:18:13 |
@supersamus02:matrix.org | I used wineWowPackages.stagingFull on many games without issues... | 11:18:33 |
