@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.org eyJhb: Does it work when you steam-run an app that works outside the FHS? 08:50:23
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkI'll try once I get to my pc :)09:09:56

steam-run alacritty works with compose key etc.
10:22:30
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkMaybe it's just Steam10:22:34
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgI wouldn't be surprised10:34:45
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgGPU is at 0% utilization, 1-5MHz, but it's idling at 55C, fans 22%, and drawing 40-45W10:35:56
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgthat seems bad?10:35:57
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgThat's normal unfortunately10:36:15
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orghmm10:36:32
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgI'm not sure how accurate the power draw is though10:39:02
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgYou'd have to measure at the wall.10:39:09
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgdropped the refresh rate to 30 and the power draw went down to 10-12W10:39:37
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgunusable of course, but interesting10:39:44
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgYeah, high refresh needs higher memory clocks AFAIK10:40:07
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgput it back to 165Hz, then locked the screen, ssh'd in, and nvtop still says 35-40W.10:40:14
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgI wish we had proper VRR in the desktop10:40:30
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgFor regular apps aswell10:40:37
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.org456MHz for the memory clock at idle10:40:40
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.org96MHz at 30Hz refresh rate though, neat10:41:33
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgstill, wonder why it keeps drawing so much power when the screen is turned off10:42:02
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.org lol I can disconnect the display cable and it still idles at 40W as if it's running at 165Hz 10:48:02
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orghm, at least one review I found suggested it should idle more like 11W, but I'm guessing VRR is working for them10:53:38
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgMy DP->HDMI adapter breaks VRR, and if I test direct DP without the adapter, I get much more reasonable idle power draw10:56:14
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgcrap10:56:15
@elvishjerricco:matrix.org@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgthis adapter is the only reason I can use DDC/CI with this monitor10:56:40
@lehmanator:gnulinux.club@lehmanator:gnulinux.club joined the room.12:02:14
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkHave there been any recent problems with Lutris? Suddenly nothing happens when I try to launch games13:07:40
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgSometimes FHSEnvs glitch out requiring a restart13:30:12
@atemu12:matrix.org@atemu12:matrix.orgMostly after switching to a different generation13:30:20
@eyjhb:eyjhb.dk@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkHaven't changed my generation since boot, ie. no switching etc. But I'm trying to update to the newest nixpkgs now, and then maybe restarting afterwards.13:35:13
