BTW: I cannot reproduce the issue in nixos-vm. I had a 1sec black-screen-time during root switching in hardware but not in VM. I guess it's modesetting or something? okay I got it with some help of friends. It turns out that my amdgpu driver is loaded after switching root, and reset the screen resolution, which also resets the font size. If I add amdgpu in initrd then the issue is gone | 01:50:23 |
