liberodark | Hi | 15:06:50 |
liberodark | I have been told that you need builders.
I will provide you with a dedicated one. | 15:07:45 |
liberodark | An x86_64 server.
Which all users listed in your repo will have access to. | 15:09:21 |
liberodark | Best Regards | 15:09:26 |
liberodark | Users list is that : https://github.com/nix-community/infra/blob/master/modules/darwin/community-builder/users.nix | 15:11:12 |
liberodark | ? | 15:11:13 |
Gaétan Lepage | What liberodark would like to do is to let nix-community be the admin of his machine.
Is that a thing that could work out zowoq ? | 15:13:54 |
emily | that's the list for the Darwin builder fwiw, the Linux one is separate | 15:15:14 |
emily | there's already an x86 Linux builder though, it's AArch64 that's missing now | 15:15:24 |
liberodark | Sorry my bad | 15:15:33 |
emily | (though I guess if there's a funded x86 Linux builder maybe the funds being used on the current one could go to AArch64 instead?) | 15:15:35 |
liberodark | Yes have possibility to help on this. | 15:15:52 |
liberodark | What is the spec needed for aarch64 ? | 15:17:09 |
emily | "some Ampere" :) | 15:17:32 |
Gaétan Lepage | "please Santa" | 15:17:49 |
Gaétan Lepage | ;) | 15:17:53 |
liberodark | Currently I have mostly x86_64 available for other needs so I thought I would make one available. | 15:17:54 |
liberodark | Yep im go to work on this later | 15:18:14 |
liberodark | But for now ? | 15:18:18 |
emily | it's tricky because there's a pretty big divide in AArch64-land between single board computers and huge expensive server hardware, and it's definitely the latter we need. Hetzner sells 80-core Amperes though, so maybe if your x86 Linux builder works the funds for the current x86 Linux builder could be redirected to that | 15:18:32 |
emily | FWIW, the current x86 builder has Ryzen 9 3900, 128 GiB RAM, ~3.5T disk | 15:19:17 |
