@motiejus:jakstys.ltmotiejus configured go2rtc. What is the resolution you are feeding to the detect stream? 19:52:43
@motiejus:jakstys.ltmotiejus * configured go2rtc, same high cpu usage. What is the resolution you are feeding to the detect stream? 19:53:43

@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkI would think the native resolution? 😄 20:35:54
@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkneither frigate nor go2rtc has any resolution configured20:36:14

@motiejus:jakstys.ltmotiejusno matter what I try :D 20:39:11
@motiejus:jakstys.ltmotiejusit's transcoding h.265 -> h.264 (to conserve bandwidth) using 7-8% of core per stream, and "detecting" with a full core + coral. :) 20:40:08
@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkpretty sure my cameras are send h.26420:47:20
@motiejus:jakstys.ltmotiejusyeah, I was testing this with h.264 all the time, just turned on h.265 for unrelated reasons (it's transcoded to h.264 at the front door)20:54:23

@rane:junkyard.systemsrane [they/them]does anyone have any good resources for migrating an existing home assistant install on alpine over to NixOS? I've got an intergration or two installed via HACS, and then most of my other sources are MQTT, no complex zigbee or other hardware integration. If there's not something that has already been written up, I'm happy to work it out and document my experience, but thought I'd just ask first.00:37:19
@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkwe have some integrations packaged up00:37:52

@rane:junkyard.systemsrane [they/them]oh cool, good to know - so I suppose anything I'm installing with HACS currently would be best contributed as a package if not already packaged?00:40:06
@rane:junkyard.systemsrane [they/them]that's helpful background on how custom components are approached, thank you00:40:30
@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkcould be, but I heard some people are also using HACS on nixos00:40:45
@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkyou will need to satisfy dependencies yourself, but that's not too hard00:40:54
@rane:junkyard.systemsrane [they/them]i think one of the things I've found tricky about HACS is it feels difficult to define the configuration and keep custom components up to date with it, so that's definitely something I'm hoping to solve with my setup, I'm definitely not afraid of getting my hands dirty and packaging some components :) 00:41:47
@hexa:lossy.network@hexa:lossy.networkhttps://wiki.nixos.org/wiki/Home_Assistant is also a good read00:41:55
@rane:junkyard.systemsrane [they/them]ah great, I haven't read this in a while, I can see there is some relevant guidance here, thanks00:42:24

@j-k:matrix.orgj-kIf I'm using home-assistant should I be on nixos-unstable rather than nixos-unstable-small? Looks like I got a cache miss on home-assistant12:26:24
@k900:0upti.meK900It's a pretty cheap build12:31:58
@k900:0upti.meK900But it's not blocking unstable-small no12:32:03
