K900 | Oh balls | 07:52:20 |
K900 | It's hardcoded in nix-index too | 07:53:03 |
K900 | Oh wait no it's not | 07:53:58 |
K900 | Oh wait no it is | 07:54:58 |
K900 | Balls | 07:54:59 |
K900 | https://github.com/nix-community/nix-index/blob/master/src/listings.rs#L26 | 07:55:00 |
K900 | I am very migraine can someone do the dance | 07:55:11 |
Vladimír Čunát | Deleting that line sounds easy enough. | 07:57:17 |
K900 | Yeah but then you have to override nix-index to remove it locally | 07:58:15 |
K900 | And then release a new nix-index, get it in nixpkgs, update nixpkgs, drop the patch | 07:58:42 |
K900 | Or something like that | 07:58:45 |
Vladimír Čunát | I suppose we don't care that xorg. disappears on 25.11? | 07:59:55 |
Vladimír Čunát | (when we delete that line) | 08:00:35 |
K900 | It's only for CNF databases | 08:00:41 |
K900 | That are hopefully not used by a lot of people | 08:00:50 |
K900 | Alternatively | 08:01:23 |
K900 | We can add better error handling there | 08:01:29 |
K900 | Like here-ish | 08:01:57 |
K900 | https://github.com/nix-community/nix-index/blob/master/src/listings.rs#L169 | 08:01:57 |
K900 | But that needs someone who actually knows Rust to touch it | 08:02:10 |
Vladimír Čunát | Weird, it's still failing for me. No idea what I'm doing wrong, and I need to do something else now. | 08:28:30 |
Vladimír Čunát | (overriding layers of flakes is not ergonomic, too) | 08:28:51 |
Vladimír Čunát | Works now. | 09:56:00 |
Vladimír Čunát | It took me time to realize that nix-index is just a wrapper, as it ignores postPatch. | 09:56:21 |

Corngood | Turns out I have quite a list of broken builds.
https://zh.fail/failed/by-maintainer/corngood.html
Not all of these are due to those same transient failures, but I think all the dotnet ones are, and then there's all the dependent packages that I don't maintain.
I'm not sure if it's worth trying to do something about this? It's only aarch64-darwin, and there will probably be upstream updates for dotnet in the next couple of weeks. | 12:34:05 |

dgrig | (I can't join the sync today, but don't have much to report eitherway) | 16:42:47 |
