Well, if it's any useful, here's the scripts I used:

  • https://github.com/NixOS/SC-election-2024/blob/main/scripts/send-email.sh
  • https://github.com/NixOS/SC-election-2024/blob/main/ec/default.nix#L106

@infinisil:matrix.orginfinisil @dgrig:erethon.com Wondering though, what's those 500 emails you're sending? 09:12:40
@dgrig:erethon.comdgrigThe tl;dr is that the Nix@NGI team is reaching out to all the NGI funded project authors with a survey to figure out how best we can help them in order to have their software packaged with Nix or in general how Nix can be of help to them (for example their CI/CD). The parent issue tracking this is https://github.com/ngi-nix/summer-of-nix/issues/8109:22:43

@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátMan, the continuous loads of aarch64-linux builds failing with "No space left on device".08:07:58
@hexa:lossy.networkhexabumped the tmpfs with another 32GB and added a workaround to kill stale build roots15:29:55
@hexa:lossy.networkhexawondering if we should replace the quasi unmanaged arm builder with an rx220 or if I should just reimage it with a new profile for the rx17016:10:19
@hexa:lossy.networkhexa128GB vs 256 GB memory is the primary difference16:10:34
@hexa:lossy.networkhexagiven that the current design is for /tmpfs I'd feel more comfortable with 256GB16:10:55
@hexa:lossy.networkhexabut if we limit the number of builds ~64GB tmpfs could work as well? not sure16:11:16
@hexa:lossy.networkhexawondering if the recipients have opted into receiving these mails16:18:16
@dgrig:erethon.comdgrig CC fricklerhandwerk who should know more 16:22:16
@idabzo:matrix.org@idabzo:matrix.orgSince we have an existing community relationship with the recipients and are not sending marketing, sales, or promotional offers, this falls under legitimate interest rather than unsolicited marketing communication. This means we are complying with EU regulations regarding electronic mail communication while respecting data protection rules and not sharing any data with third parties in accordance with GDPR.17:34:12

@k900:0upti.meK900I think we lost like half the builders07:01:50
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátI believe we just didn't have (enough darwin) runnable steps at that point.07:22:18
@k900:0upti.meK900There were some in the queue07:24:10
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátYes, in queue, but not as in-memory runnable steps, right?07:25:31
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátBuilds ingestion isn't too fast.07:25:38
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát* Yes, in queue, but not as in-memory runnable steps, right? (by looking at graphs)07:26:00
