dgrig | hexa (signing key rotation when) Jonas Chevalier Mic92 (sorry for the direct ping) The Nix@NGI team needs to send some emails from the ngi@nixos.org email address to ~500 recipients. Last time this team needed something done from improvmx, the request was completed in an ad-hoc manner and I'm wondering if there's a way to formalize this. Either if someone from the Nix@NGI team had access to improvmx so we can send emails ourselves or if there's a better way to ask for someone with access to do the email sending for us. If this room isn't the proper avenue to discuss this please let me know where you think it's more appropriate to have this discussion (nixos/org maybe?) | 11:18:16 |
Jonas Chevalier | @jfly:matrix.org is probably the best person to talk to about this | 12:14:50 |
hexa | Our improvmx does support sender accounts, so we can set this up | 12:49:24 |

Mic92 | Improvemx has a daily quota and this is below the quota | 13:06:37 |
hexa | it says 600/mo for the subscription we have, where does it expose a daily quota? | 13:14:31 |
hexa | * it says 6000/mo for the subscription we have, where does it expose a daily quota? | 13:14:36 |
dgrig | Even if it has a daily limit, I think we're ok with sending emails in 2-3 batches if that would help with any daily quotas. Can we get a sender account created with the owner being ngi@nixos.org and a sending address of ngi@nixos.org? I understand that this specific address already exists and is a mailing list in improvmx. | 13:19:02 |
hexa | omw | 13:20:40 |
hexa | ok, created the account and added the credentials to the ngi collection on bitwarden | 13:22:40 |
dgrig | Can confirm I see it, thank you! | 13:50:06 |
hexa | Jonas Chevalier: does domain renewal on nix.dev happen automatically? if not T-30 days. | 17:09:47 |
hexa | looks resolved 🙂 | 17:17:56 |
Mic92 | In reply to @hexa:lossy.network it says 6000/mo for the subscription we have, where does it expose a daily quota? We sent order of 1k for the vote in a day | 18:04:04 |

fricklerhandwerk | Thanks a great deal hexa (signing key rotation when) ❤️❤️ | 08:07:26 |
infinisil | @dgrig:erethon.com I did the batch sending of emails from nixos.org before, feel free to ask me if you need help :) | 09:02:56 |
dgrig | Thank you for offerring. Hexa already created an smtp account for us, so we can take care of the rest | 09:05:00 |
infinisil | In reply to @dgrig:erethon.com Thank you for offerring. Hexa already created an smtp account for us, so we can take care of the rest Well, if it's any useful, here's the scripts I used:
- https://github.com/NixOS/SC-election-2024/blob/main/ec/default.nix#L106
| 09:06:51 |
infinisil | @dgrig:erethon.com Wondering though, what's those 500 emails you're sending? | 09:12:40 |
dgrig | The tl;dr is that the Nix@NGI team is reaching out to all the NGI funded project authors with a survey to figure out how best we can help them in order to have their software packaged with Nix or in general how Nix can be of help to them (for example their CI/CD). The parent issue tracking this is https://github.com/ngi-nix/summer-of-nix/issues/81 | 09:22:43 |

Vladimír Čunát | Man, the continuous loads of aarch64-linux builds failing with "No space left on device". | 08:07:58 |
hexa | bumped the tmpfs with another 32GB and added a workaround to kill stale build roots | 15:29:55 |
hexa | wondering if we should replace the quasi unmanaged arm builder with an rx220 or if I should just reimage it with a new profile for the rx170 | 16:10:19 |
hexa | 128GB vs 256 GB memory is the primary difference | 16:10:34 |
