 fpletz | Not an official SC decision but my personal opinion: In general the SC's goal has been to empower individual teams. So the marketing team should probably have primary control of the existing social media accounts and whether to create new ones, possibly with oversight and/or fallback by the SC. If any team needs guidance or wants a decision on a governance issue, feel free to send the SC a message via email or discourse pm and we will take care of it (also in coordination with the foundation board if needed). IMHO in this case everything went like it should have - except that it might be more appropriate to deliver mails to webmaster@ to the infra team instead. ;) | 15:52:05 |
| @idabzo:matrix.org | The reason I initially asked about webmaster@nixos.org is that, until now, all marketing tools—such as the newsletter platform and social media postings—have been linked to this email. This was because Rok Garbas had access to it, as noted in this GitHub discussion - https://github.com/NixOS/org/pull/75 .
Given this, my assumption was that we needed to continue linking everything to webmaster@. However, I now see that this is not necessary—fortunately! | 15:58:57 |
