k0kada (he/him) | No, but doom-emacs code is complex enough that I can imagine a few hard to debug issues to happen because you're not using the proper way to load a dependency | 14:05:50 |
k0kada (he/him) | I remember having issues using the wrong way to load a dependency in doom-emacs itself | 14:06:16 |
k0kada (he/him) | This was before using NDE | 14:06:32 |
k0kada (he/him) | Anyway, do what you want, but I wouldn't recommend | 14:06:47 |
k0kada (he/him) | * Anyway, do what you want, but I wouldn't recommend it | 14:06:52 |
k0kada (he/him) | There is a chance we already do this for NDE itself though, if yes forget what I said | 14:07:15 |

@hab25:matrix.org | Ok, thanks again! | 14:07:42 |
k0kada (he/him) | One possibly issue I can think right now is that maybe the deps will not be natively compiled | 14:08:51 |

akaihola | Hi all,
I'd like to be able to edit my config.el on the fly without having to rebuild (home-manager switch). I'm using the example home-manager configuration straight from README.md (with doomPrivateDir = ./doom.d;).
If I'm not mistaken, this actually used to work before, I didn't need to recompile. But it changed at some point.
Is this currently possible with nix-doom-emacs?

Emma Bastås | When working on my config.el I usually test it out running emacs --load <path to config.el>
Of course this doesn't affect the emacs server.

@hab25:matrix.org | In reply to @ckie:ckie.dev extraPackages miiiight not get included in the nativecomp build looks like it does. From M-x describe-function:
hyperbole-mode is an interactive and natively compiled function defined in hyperbole.el.

aktaboot | does nix-doom-emacs only work with HM ? | 11:28:40 |
aktaboot | anyone has their emacsclient working on wayland ? any tweaks for it to work ? | 15:13:31 |
ckie (they/them) | better if you post what isn't working | 15:17:56 |
aktaboot | I'm not using nix-doom-emacs though, I probably have to set a wayland display variable or wayland wrapper | 15:21:48 |
