Hi all - I've been working for a couple of days on getting Nix-Darwin to play nicely with Doom Emacs. To manage this, I installed emacs via Nix Packages and then manually installed Doom. All seems to have been working fine except when it comes to extra packages (e.g. DAP and RealGud debuggers for C/C++).

Much to my annoyance, I could not manage to get Doom DAP to realize that it had access to LLDB (mac drop in for GDB). I'm not sure why this is the case but I suspect it has to perhaps do with nix packaging conflicting with emacs/doom packaging.

My ask is this:

  • Has anyone here successfully setup Doom Emacs via Nix Darwin in a way that allows you to use LLDB?

@sethgoodluck:matrix.orgSethPretty niche ask, but at this point, I'm ready to go nuclear and try something entirely different (maybe install emacs not via nix packages for starters to test my hypothesis)18:34:53
