@k900:0upti.meK900I'd like to be more sure about the cross implications19:48:55
@k900:0upti.meK900Also we've got a Rust rebuild now19:48:59
@k900:0upti.meK900So there's time19:49:03
@glepage:matrix.orgGaétan LepageOk sure !19:49:50

@emilazy:matrix.orgemily Gaétan Lepage: i really think you want buildPackages. 00:54:22
@emilazy:matrix.orgemilyat least in the absence of Artturin's scary PR that scares me00:54:34
@phanirithvij:matrix.orgloudgolemhttps://github.com/Textualize/textual/blob/9f8022614ae959531807e2d1fb6b34855e97b06e/pyproject.toml#L77 textualize needs pytest-textual-snapshot for snapshot testing (which are disabled in nixpkgs) but if I wanted to enabled them, since pytest-textual-snapshot depends on textual, what's the solution to this?05:17:01

Gaétan Lepage: i really think you want buildPackages.
In the protobuf PR ?

@emilazy:matrix.orgemilyyes07:48:31
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Ross
In reply to @k900:0upti.me
Also we've got a Rust rebuild now
the point of merging the Rust rebuild at this point is that it doesn't really affect the time
07:48:46
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Rosswe still didn't build rustc07:49:01
@k900:0upti.meK900Oh god 07:49:08
@k900:0upti.meK900Why is it so slow 07:49:15
@k900:0upti.meK900But yeah if it's so slow we have time anyway 07:49:25
@emilazy:matrix.orgemily at least you have an stdenv 07:50:03
@emilazy:matrix.orgemily (though maybe x86_64-darwin grew one overnight) 07:50:07
@glepage:matrix.orgGaétan Lepage

Gaétan Lepage: i really think you want buildPackages.
Artturin made me change to inherit (pkgs.__splicedPackages) protobuf;.
Are you talking about smthg that should be changed within the derivation ?
07:55:48
@emilazy:matrix.orgemily hm, I missed the local __splicedPackages change 07:56:05
@emilazy:matrix.orgemilyI trust Atturin so I guess it's fine :p07:56:15
@glepage:matrix.orgGaétan LepageOk :)07:56:36
@drupol:matrix.orgPolI'm looking for some help in here: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/34943219:49:47
@drupol:matrix.orgPol I don't think we should use patchelf, what would be the proper solution here? 19:50:12
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Ross

Forcing -lc++ would be a better solution, but probably still not the proper one

19:53:25
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Rosshuh this is a Rust library?19:54:07
@drupol:matrix.orgPolyes19:54:12
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa RossI guess you'd need to figure out where the C++ symbols are coming from19:55:00
@qyliss:fairydust.spaceAlyssa Rossbecause presumably it's not from the Rust code19:55:07
