In reply to @lehmanator:gnulinux.clubHow did you fix it? | 11:03:33
In reply to @vengmark2:matrix.orgI do not think it is a good idea. See the PR introducing it for discussion. | 11:47:47
In reply to @rootname:matrix.orgI had a bad ram configuration in my bios | 12:37:21
In reply to @rootname:matrix.orgI havent yet | 13:08:58
In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.orgDo you have a link? I assume it's somewhere in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/234615. | 23:22:18
In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.org* Do you have a link? I assume it's somewhere in https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/234615, but GitHub "helpfully" hides most of the comments. | 23:22:35

| Hm, is there a way to get GDM to not show a "fingerprint failed" message every time if I have fprintd explicitly disabled for login in pam? | 00:32:51 | |
In reply to @vengmark2:matrix.orgthere was quite a bit of back and forth. If you use Refined GitHub browser extension, you can alt click a collapsed item and it will expand all collapsed items of that type. | 01:41:20

In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.orgCool, FYI it's this discussion. The point about duplicate keys is well taken - that should probably be documented so that it doesn't come up again in an issue. | 22:31:27
| l0b0: what do you mean about duplicate keys? | 23:02:30 | |
In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.orgThis comment | 23:17:19
In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.org* This comment - IIUC we can't support that with nested attrsets. | 23:17:55
| oh, right – but since we do not support nested attributes, it is not an issue currently | 23:18:15 | |
In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.orgThat's what I mean - it's a good argument against moving to nested attrsets. | 23:18:36

| Can someone test that https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/280256 actually works as intended with GNOME? | 10:57:43 | |

can someone explain the partial gnome namespacing in nixpkgs? I am confused why a few packages are at the top level. it looks like mostly new ones like loupe and gnome-console. should the rest of the namespace get top level names for consistency (with deprecated gnome aliases for backwards compatibility)? thanks for any info :) | 02:52:54
I am not referring to gnome- prefixes btw, those are consistently for packages that use generic names rather than codenames and match with upstream. instead I mean e.g. gnome.gnome-music as opposed to just gnome-music, or gnome.totem as opposed to just totem | 02:54:09
| hpfr: we are adding new stuff to top-level since there is not much of a point to namespace, eventually, we are going to moving all/most stuff to top-level but it is not a priority | 11:40:44 | |

| thank you! makes sense | 17:06:49 | |
