| After a week, I'm starting to have a nixos gnome working nicely, I'm happy. Just some issue due to wayland like screensharing with Element and autotype in keepassxc but that's due to Wayland and I'm confident it will be solve some day soon, wayland being more and more used by default. | 09:13:15 | |
| Just one weird behavior remain, notification from Element desktop don't display. I got the sound notification and Element icon shows me there is a notification but it doesn't display as if I was in "don't disturb" mode except I'm note and it doesn't appear in notification center neither (which it should even though I would be in "don't disturb" mode). | 09:15:43 | |
| And it's not linked to wayland as I face the same issue if I try on Gnome on X11 | 09:16:26 | |
| Have you heard of it? | 09:16:29 | |
| Is it specific to Element desktop app of to Electron apps? | 09:16:59 | |
| I can't find any issue open about element app or electron app and notification issue on https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs | 09:18:46 | |
| Otherwies notifications are working perfectly fine with Firefox and Thunderbird for example | 09:19:48 | |

| I opened an issue here for the record : https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/301493 | 09:37:15 | |
| For what it's worth, I am having the same problem with Element notifications not displaying. It used to work fine a while back. | 11:25:02 | |
| As I'm new on nixos, I can't tell if it use to work or not... Could you share this feedback on the issue I opened? On my side, I'll to check if this issue is on ubuntu gnome 45 with Element 1.11.61 or debian gnome (current version of gnome on debian) and Element 1.11.61 | 11:28:51 | |
| Looks like it has been fixed recently: https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/296971 | 11:34:14 | |
| I see but it has not been backported apparently | 11:35:53 | |
| drupol just did it https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/301522 so notification should come back soon then iclanzan | 11:44:36 | |

| Hey, just wanted to ask if I would like to checkout the gnome 46 pr - can i somehow rely on binary cache or do I have to build everthing locally? | 19:13:15 | |

In reply to @sebtm:lodere.eswe ran a hydra eval few days ago so that is in the main binary cache but GTK 4 and pygobject has been updated since so you will still need to do some builds | 21:07:41

I feel a bit stupid but am I correct in that it's still the gnome-46 branch for now and not the gnome branch as it was last release? So the correct url to pull from is github:nixos/nixpkgs/gnome-46, right? | 21:16:52
| correct | 22:38:27 | |

In reply to @jtojnar:matrix.orgThanks will give it a try then was just worried for a whole gnome rebuild 😁 partials work out with my hardware 🙏 | 08:50:54
| Sad to say I've had no time to look at the build failures from the last hydra eval, and I don't think this is going to change in the next week or two. I still think we're in a relatively good position to land 46 this month - but I'm not sure if I will have the time to help that happen | 15:40:52 | |
