Hi team! I have a huge f-up right on the first login. I have installed NixOS the latest release (with encryption). I selected the Ukrainian language and localization. But I have set the password in English and selected the same password for the admin. After the first reboot, I'm unable to input the password because there is no English in the login screen, only Ukrainian.
could you please open an issue in Nixpkgs, that sounds like an installer bug

@lehmanator:gnulinux.club@lehmanator:gnulinux.clubI want to help out with getting GNOME 45 merged. What branch of nixpkgs should I be trying to rebase/merge into? Master? Any pointers for doing this for someone who hasn't contributed to nixpkgs before?20:26:44
@uep:matrix.orguepI absolutely do not want to discourage you, but my first advice would perhaps be to look for an easier place to start? Even just getting things built with a hypothetical perfect merge is a big slow challenge23:59:34

Haha fair enough.

I've built my own copy of nixpkgs before, just haven't pushed anything upstream yet, and wanted to at least get an idea of what the process looks like. No promise it'll bear any fruit, but I'd like to play around in a way that I can upstream any fixes I do get working.

@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunatI assume the branch's devs test it as it is, not merged or rebased.07:02:48

@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunatWe have spare x86_64-linux capacity on Hydra now and I think the state will hold for the next few days.07:35:11
@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunatPerhaps it's high time to update/rebase and then I'll create a jobset?07:36:00
@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunatOr do you feel like it will be mergable without that step?07:36:16
@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunatAh, I forgot about the time.07:37:18
@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunatIf release managers really want to branch-off on Monday (20th), there's not much time.07:38:17
@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunat Might as well merge the gnome branch into staging-next at some point this week - and get a jobset that way. 07:39:45
@piegames:matrix.orgpiegamesLast time I checked the branch had some build failures08:26:29

@niko:conduit.rsnyanbinaryYea there not much time in the schedule left right?14:46:36
@niko:conduit.rsnyanbinaryLike timing is tight 14:46:44

@vcunat:matrix.orgvcunat BTW, if the focus is x86_64-linux, I believe the best base is the current staging-next already. 15:02:30

@balacij:matrix.orgbalacijDoes anyone have any experience with packaging thumbnailers? I'm trying to create a package for f3d, it works when I run f3d manually in my shell, but segfaults when I try to have it create a thumbnail through GNOME.02:48:21
