So, I was under the impression that if I enabled services.flatpak.enable and did flatpak remote-add --if-not-exists flathub https://flathub.org/repo/flathub.flatpakrepo, then I'd start being able to use gnome-software like a GUI app store. But that doesn't seem to be working. Is that not right?
you might need --user on the command to add a user remote for gnome-software

@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerricco Lily Foster: The "Software Repositories" menu from the top right of the gnome-software window does list flatpak already though 00:25:47
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoBut I guess I can try that00:25:52
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerricco no dice with that either :/ It spent a few minutes doing some kind of update screen and then nothing new 00:34:17
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccohuh, after a nixos update and a reboot, it's working. I thought I had tried a reboot, but maybe something changed in a nixos update. Oh well, working now00:44:18
@jtojnar:matrix.orgJan Tojnar ElvishJerricco: there was a regression in libxmlb that broke that, should be fixed now 22:01:31

anyone got fixes for the current gdm issues?

  • gdm not returning from sleep
  • login takes like 3 seconds, sometimes fails, have to try many times again, when logged in gnome-extensions somehow get disabled

from what I can find:

@leo:gaspard.ninjaEkleogHey! I recently upgraded from 23.11 to unstable (yes I was lagging behind a lot, now I have autoupgrade set on unstable so should not have the same issues again). I did the upgrade one nixos release at a time and with a reboot between each bump, to be sure I'm not hitting too many unexpected paths. However, since the upgrade, Gnome has been behaving very weirdly. In particular, mouse focus is very random: sometimes I click on a window and it clicks on the window below it, sometimes I click on a window and nothing happens, and sometimes the gnome control bar at the top of the screen doesn't accept clicks. Usually, pressing the Win key and then selecting the window (or clicking the gnome control bar from that Win-pressed space) works around the issue. I'm also seeing gnome control center freezing when trying to select the sound input source. Does anyone have any idea what this could be due to?23:13:31

@bobby285271:matrix.orgbobby285271In case there are Xfce users here, I plan to merge the Xfce 4.20 bump soon. If you think there are blocking issues please do say (xfce-wayland issues are not blockers 🙂)23:35:02

@er10:matrix.org@er10:matrix.orgHello, one simple question here : I've installed (in configuration.nix) a second wm (sway) yet gdm does not show it as an option ? What should be done ? Thanks for your aid.19:42:29
