bobby285271 | I assume it just need newer GLib (>=2.82.0).
I don't think I can get GNOME 47 merged before mid-October if nobody other than me read upstream changelogs. | 13:56:08 |
hexa | can we update glib/gobject-introspection outside of gnome 47? | 13:56:32 |
hexa | nvm, applying https://github.com/GNOME/gobject-introspection/commit/a2139dba59eac283a7f543ed737f038deebddc19 makes it work | 13:57:05 |
hexa | I'll let you sort out the rest | 13:57:09 |
bobby285271 | In reply to @hexa:lossy.network can we update glib/gobject-introspection outside of gnome 47? I don't know, there are known breakages like cjs and gst-editing-services, I haven't asked for any (hydra) eval on that PR yet 𤷠| 13:59:48 |

Alyssa Ross | Jan Tojnarthe last thing I need to fix to get my stuff building again with the portal change is gnome-settings-daemon. I'd need to either backport a couple of patches, or upgrade gnome-settings-daemon ahead of the rest of the GNOME update PR. Do you think either of those approaches is better than the other?
| 17:42:46 |
Jan Tojnar | Alyssa Ross: I have not looked into the update yet but it is quite tightly coupled with other components so backports might be easier. Or maybe Sandroās PR. | 21:54:13 |
FabiƔn Heredia | Hi Jan Tojnar, https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/345611
Got any opinion on this vs status quo? I don't feel strongly about it and might close the PR if it doesn't receive a review
