I had to set environment.sessionVariables.XDG_DATA_DIRS to include pkgs.gsettings-desktop-schemas path in order to gsettings to work in bash. but other apps, like the dconf-editor had no issue accessing the schema without me setting that. Anyone knows how did it work for some apps but not others?

for me they open in Firefox as expected
