André Lima | Where did you see that gnome no longer supports autostart desktop files? I'm creating a PR to fix that and it would be useful to mention that in the description | 22:30:15 |
André Lima | Found it! PRs are:

@normalcea:matrix.org | Thank you for these, I left my reviews | 02:55:31 |
l0b0 | I use GNOME's display scaling feature on a 4k monitor to get everything to a nice 2x scale. I also auto-start a bunch of applications when logging in. But two of the applications consistently don't scale on this first launch: KeePassXC and Jetbrains IDEA. I have to close and re-open them to get them to scale. Does anyone know why this might be, and how to fix it? | 11:55:49 |
l0b0 | Some comments mention QT5 being the devil, and QT6 being the saviour… | 17:55:15 |

@normalcea:matrix.org | It might be because they are running under xwayland | 03:27:48 |
@normalcea:matrix.org | Do you have the experimental feature "xwayland-native-scaling" enabled? | 03:29:04 |
@normalcea:matrix.org | * | 03:29:29 |
@normalcea:matrix.org | Also if you want to avoid qt5 into your system closure, try gnome-secrets, it reads KeePass databases and does TOTP, the only thing you lose out on is icons and the keepass browser companion | 03:32:36 |
@normalcea:matrix.org | * Also if you want to avoid keepass' qt5 into your system closure, try gnome-secrets, it reads KeePass databases and does TOTP, the only thing you lose out on is icons and the keepass browser companion | 03:32:42 |
@normalcea:matrix.org | otherwise you have a nice adwaita app that does nice adwaita things (type to search by default) | 03:33:12 |
@mcnesium:matrix.org | Running NixOS Unstable with Gnome 49, today I see the Gnome session crash and go back to the login screen, whenever I try to use the microphone of my bluetooth headset. This happens in all applications (tested Firefox, Chromium, Vocalis). It does not crash when using the built-in microphone. Journalctl says:
Gvc:ERROR:../subprojects/gvc/gvc-mixer-stream.c:535:gvc_mixer_stream_get_port: code should not be reached
Is this a Gnome or a NixOS issue?
