| 50nj1ku | In my case pavucontrol has 2 different microphones to select from for the internal sound card. One of them is just the same name as the other with " (unplugged)" appended at the end. Try switching them if its the same case for you. | 02:25:03 |

| SYMYƧ | fluidsynth (the CLI program) - too much work to get started, plus you really want a GUI for this kind of stuff.
linuxsampler with qsampler frontend - far too buggy to use, I couldn't get past the bugs to even make sound from it.
Those were the ones I tried before realizing Ardour8 has ACE FluidSynth and trying it out.
