 evils | when i've got easyeffects' input monitoring enabled, every so often i get one of these in the logs
Jul 04 09:06:18 valix pipewire[524017]: spa.alsa: m4_stereo_out:M4,0,0,1: follower delay:478 target:544 thr:64, resync (0 missed)
after which i get about half a second delay on everything (the monitoring, youtube playback, mpv)
so far the only solution i've found is to restart my MOTU M4 interface
pw-top still shows the usual quant and rate
any idea how to get a better view on the situation?

| evils | ok, seems to happen if i have easyeffects input monitoring and something running at 128/96000 (tried with that being easyeffects and mpv separately, both do it)
with 256/96000 it doesn't happen spontaneously, but i can trigger it by running stress
there is an audible stutter associated with it going into high latency
so i think it's running out of buffer and that's triggering something to default to a system wide safe mode until the interface is reset
i'd love to know what the fallback mode is, how to avoid it going into it (as i'm just monitoring, not recording)
