Brian Hechinger | In reply to @bandithedoge:matrix.org i just put my age key in my keepass database, not the cleanest solution but it works Yeah, I do the same with 1password | 10:37:32 |
Brian Hechinger | In reply to @bandithedoge:matrix.org i think you can run a normal jack server alongside pipewire if you disable its jack compatibility layer, never tried that myself tho I know you can have pipewire sit "on top" of JACK (instead of talking to ALSA directly) but that defeates the purpose of pipewire in my opinion. Not sure if you can do it the other way, but that's an interesting idea. I'll have to look into that. | 10:38:23 |
Brian Hechinger | In reply to @tobiasbora:matrix.org I'm using keepassxc + syncthings, never had any issue in NixOs. I've been meaning to look into syncthings as well. I may have to bundle these two. | 10:39:17 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | In reply to @wonko:4amlunch.net I've been meaning to look into syncthings as well. I may have to bundle these two. i also have this exact setup, keepassxc with a rofi script on desktop and keepassdx on android, synced with syncthing | 11:33:56 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | everything works fine, just watch out for file conflicts | 11:34:09 |
Miles Dyson | Hey there, how do I get Musescore to pay audio? | 18:21:25 |
Miles Dyson | How does it connect to the audio subsystem even? | 18:22:09 |

Miles Dyson | I am obviously missing something. | 18:23:23 |
Miles Dyson | And why does it keep trying to update? | 18:24:23 |

@adham-omran:matrix.org | In reply to @technicus:matrix.org sent an image. What kind of audio configuration do you have going on? | 15:08:24 |

Glad to hear that it works! | 06:09:47 |
@adham-omran:matrix.org | Has anyone here experimented with usb passthrough to a windows vm for audio production? | 06:10:15 |
@fractivore:cyberia.club | Not I... My resources are pretty limited so I never go for VMs unless I absolutely have to | 08:17:25 |
@fractivore:cyberia.club | Something windows-specific you need in your stack? | 08:18:14 |
@fractivore:cyberia.club | I dunno if I can help with USB passthru to a windows VM, but I may be able to help find alternatives depending on your goals | 08:18:42 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | unless you have an exotic layout or need super low latency you'll be fine with spice or scream | 09:48:34 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | scream didn't work for me but looking glass supports audio through spice and pulse audio which works great for my 2-in 2-out usb interface without any usb passthrough | 09:49:56 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | looking glass b7 will have native pipewire though, there's already b7-rc1 but it's not in nixpkgs | 09:50:55 |
@adham-omran:matrix.org | In reply to @fractivore:cyberia.club Something windows-specific you need in your stack? iZotope, LABS, Noteperformer, Muse Hub | 10:02:45 |
@adham-omran:matrix.org | I managed to run a Windows 10 vm and pass my USB Focusrite 2i4 to it and it seems to work fine from my limited testing | 10:03:23 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | In reply to @adham-omran:matrix.org iZotope, LABS, Noteperformer, Muse Hub you might have some luck with yabridge if you don't mind the slight performance penalty | 10:07:19 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | i use a lot of windows plugins so i used to rely heavily on yabridge and it surprised me very pleasantly | 10:08:24 |
@bandithedoge:matrix.org | i switched to a vm though because the performance hit was a bit too much for my cpu | 10:08:55 |
@adham-omran:matrix.org | In reply to @bandithedoge:matrix.org you might have some luck with yabridge if you don't mind the slight performance penalty I tried, LABS breaks after a while and no amount of sync solves it | 10:09:18 |
