@Minijackson:matrix.orgMinijacksonI have no idea whether Pipewire or JACK would work on WSL, but now you made me curious20:37:40

@fractivore:cyberia.club@fractivore:cyberia.clubArrrrrgggghhh I simply cannot get consistent behavior out of JACK or PipeWire with my audio interface and midi devices 😖 Will it never end??02:47:25
@fractivore:cyberia.club@fractivore:cyberia.clublolz I should actually try solving my problems before I start complaining03:48:00
@fractivore:cyberia.club@fractivore:cyberia.club The following config option was what I needed for JACK to find the audio interface on startup:
jackd.extraOptions = [ "-dalsa" "--device" "hw:STUDIOCAPTURE,0" ];

@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64Does anyone here use pipewire and jack2 at the same time? I found out that pipewire can make a jack client and directly connect to jack, but it's not working for some reason. I tried asking this in the pipewire matrix room but no one responded so I figured I'd ask here too just in case there's anyone doing this on NixOS (like I'm trying to).07:37:27
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pipewire/pipewire/-/wikis/Config-JACK#jack-bridge07:38:05
@Minijackson:matrix.orgMinijacksonThe way I'm using it, the Pipewire daemon is the JACK implementation, so it does not connect to another JACK daemon07:38:45
@Minijackson:matrix.orgMinijacksondo you need to have the jack2 implementation?07:38:55
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64Yeah unfortunately the pipewire implementation of JACK does not play nicely with all things07:39:20
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64https://github.com/BespokeSynth/BespokeSynth/issues/50007:39:42
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64^ this is the main problem07:39:53
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64Redacted or Malformed Event07:40:00
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64all applications built with JUCE have this problem07:40:14
@poweruser64:matrix.orgPowerUser64basically there's only a 5% chance the thing you're trying to open will be able to connect to the sound card07:41:36
