Brian Hechinger | Well, made some good progress today. | 22:36:40 |
Brian Hechinger | Although this wireplumber stuff is a bit dodgy. :( | 22:36:52 |

50nj1ku | Heyy | 10:32:54 |
50nj1ku | Hope everyone's alright | 10:33:04 |
50nj1ku | So I've switched to flakes in my system | 10:33:13 |
50nj1ku | And I'm trying to setup musnix again | 10:33:26 |
50nj1ku | I followed what the github page says in regards to that | 10:33:56 |
50nj1ku | But I'm not sure how to change the options of it | 10:34:09 |
50nj1ku | Do I just do that in configuration.nix? | 10:34:48 |
Minijackson | if you have followed the musnix README, then yes, the musnix options will be available from any of your NixOS configuration files | 11:44:34 |

symys | I'm taking another stab at switching my audio stack over to NixOS (from AV Linux: MX Edition).
pkgs.linuxPackages-rt_latest - this is a realtime kernel right??
Anybody work in Ardour on NixOS much? I am kind of looking for general configuration pointers - but specifically wondering how to resolve the first warning it gives me, about how Ardour might run out of memory before the system does.

I think you'll want this configuration: https://github.com/musnix/musnix/blob/master/modules/base.nix#L87 | 15:59:10 |
Minijackson | You might want to setup musnix as a whole, it'll setup the realtime kernel, the limits, among other things | 15:59:46 |

50nj1ku | Hey does anyone know of any good reverse delay plugins I can find in packages? Or something that will help get a similar effect | 16:11:17 |
Minijackson | looking at my installed plugins, I have the calf reverse delay plugin | 16:39:18 |
Minijackson | but I've never tested it | 16:39:25 |
Minijackson | Calf in general has a lot of good plugins: https://calf-studio-gear.org/ | 16:40:36 |
symys | In reply to @Minijackson:matrix.org Calf in general has a lot of good plugins: https://calf-studio-gear.org/ Ohh heck yeah, I'm so glad calf stuff is packaged, some of my fav plugins | 17:01:36 |
50nj1ku | Sadly Calf Reverse Delay seems to be a glorified bypass button for me. When its enable it doesn't affect the signal at all, only the bypass button works | 17:09:02 |
50nj1ku | Also they don't mention it at all in their online docs | 17:09:16 |
Minijackson | huh, I can't get it to work either 😕 | 17:13:15 |
symys | I want to install basically every soft synth available on NixOS. Anyone know where I can get a big list of these? And, any favs and suggestions anyone knows has been packaged? So far I have Yoshimi, that's about it. | 20:10:10 |
symys | I have never settled on a good plugin suite. Now that I'm giving NixOS another shot for audio, I want to really land on one that I can just declare and stop tinkering with for a while. | 20:10:51 |
Minijackson | I have a soft spot for Cardinal / VCV-rack, but it's a beast to master | 20:11:18 |
