Vladimír Čunát | I'd rather say that there was time, as 1.5.1 was released in December upstream... | 21:20:13 |
Vladimír Čunát | (I don't know the package in particular, etc. Sometimes there's enough justification, e.g. we backport major browser updates.) | 21:25:04 |

@me:indeednotjames.com | In reply to @hexa:lossy.network can you fix the test, update the module with mkRemovedOptionModule and still get it in, including release notes, in time for 23.05? that's a clear maybe. I could fix and solve this, by sending OP a big .patch, yes. But I have my doubts if OP will commit them fast enough, honestly. And I also do not actually care about that package/module 😅 It's just a PR I stumped upon a few weeks ago and noticed some issues with.
Having 1.4.4 in 23.05 is probably fine and good enough. Sorry for the noise, but I think I do understand the freeze period a bit better now. Thank you all for your time :)

raitobezarius | hexa: at what hour do you suggest we do the branch-off? | 22:58:57 |
hexa | some time in the evening? | 22:59:36 |
raitobezarius | works | 23:03:37 |
raitobezarius | I need to have a working GPG setup I see | 23:04:34 |
hexa | yikes 😄 | 23:04:43 |
raitobezarius | I mean I have proper keys and all | 23:04:53 |
hexa | if that's too much of a hassle I can do the tag | 23:05:00 |
raitobezarius | But GPG is drunk and think I have no signing key | 23:05:02 |
raitobezarius | Absolutely not, I want to do it :) | 23:05:07 |
raitobezarius | I already prepared most of the stuff now | 23:05:14 |
hexa | awesome 😄 have a great day then | 23:05:16 |
raitobezarius | :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDd | 23:05:20 |
raitobezarius | I'm not sure whether I should bother with GPG commit signature vs SSH commit signature | 23:13:26 |
raitobezarius | The only difference would be revocation but for nixpkgs what does that even means | 23:13:36 |
Ilan Joselevich (Kranzes) | I sign commits with ssh | 23:49:53 |
Ilan Joselevich (Kranzes) | -sk ssh key | 23:50:05 |
Ilan Joselevich (Kranzes) | So i gotta have yubikey, touch it and enter pin | 23:50:29 |
raitobezarius | That doesn't really answer my concerns ;) | 23:51:38 |
Ilan Joselevich (Kranzes) | I personally avoid GPG at all cost | 23:55:21 |
Ilan Joselevich (Kranzes) | I find it to be too complex | 23:55:43 |
raitobezarius | In reply to @raitobezarius:matrix.org The only difference would be revocation but for nixpkgs what does that even means ^ | 23:59:10 |

Janne Heß | In reply to @raitobezarius:matrix.org The only difference would be revocation but for nixpkgs what does that even means We could add a trusted signers file to nixpkgs | 08:01:44 |
raitobezarius | I believe https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/227431 is the last actionable blocker for the release | 12:09:02 |
Janne Heß | Maybe in the maintainers folder | 08:01:53 |
