@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátRedacted or Malformed Event21:19:41
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír ČunátI'd rather say that there was time, as 1.5.1 was released in December upstream...21:20:13
@vcunat:matrix.orgVladimír Čunát(I don't know the package in particular, etc. Sometimes there's enough justification, e.g. we backport major browser updates.)21:25:04

can you fix the test, update the module with mkRemovedOptionModule and still get it in, including release notes, in time for 23.05? that's a clear maybe.

I could fix and solve this, by sending OP a big .patch, yes.
But I have my doubts if OP will commit them fast enough, honestly.
And I also do not actually care about that package/module 😅
It's just a PR I stumped upon a few weeks ago and noticed some issues with.

Having 1.4.4 in 23.05 is probably fine and good enough.
Sorry for the noise, but I think I do understand the freeze period a bit better now. Thank you all for your time :)

@hexa:lossy.networkhexayikes 😄23:04:43
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI mean I have proper keys and all23:04:53
@hexa:lossy.networkhexaif that's too much of a hassle I can do the tag23:05:00
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusBut GPG is drunk and think I have no signing key23:05:02
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezarius Absolutely not, I want to do it :) 23:05:07
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI already prepared most of the stuff now23:05:14
@hexa:lossy.networkhexaawesome 😄 have a great day then23:05:16
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezarius:DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDd23:05:20
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI'm not sure whether I should bother with GPG commit signature vs SSH commit signature23:13:26
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusThe only difference would be revocation but for nixpkgs what does that even means23:13:36
@kranzes:matrix.orgIlan Joselevich (Kranzes)I sign commits with ssh23:49:53
@kranzes:matrix.orgIlan Joselevich (Kranzes) -sk ssh key 23:50:05
@kranzes:matrix.orgIlan Joselevich (Kranzes)So i gotta have yubikey, touch it and enter pin23:50:29
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusThat doesn't really answer my concerns ;)23:51:38
@kranzes:matrix.orgIlan Joselevich (Kranzes)I personally avoid GPG at all cost23:55:21
@kranzes:matrix.orgIlan Joselevich (Kranzes)I find it to be too complex 23:55:43

We could add a trusted signers file to nixpkgs

@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI believe https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/issues/227431 is the last actionable blocker for the release12:09:02
