leona | thanks github for that pr ttitle | 20:56:43 |
leona | I can still say that we didn't break master, only release-25.11 🙃 | 20:58:09 |
| André Lima set a profile picture. | 21:10:27 |

hexa | the bug report template needs updating btw | 22:51:11 |
jopejoe1 (4094@39c3) | Currently on my way home, will push a change when i'm home | 22:56:57 |
hexa | one more breaking change that we might need to backport is the removal of eol quictls (at openssl 3.3.0) used in nginxQuic, angieQuic and optionally haproxy | 22:57:37 |
hexa | https://github.com/quictls/openssl is basically a fork of openssl with quic patches on top that have been merged into openssl 3.5, so the thing is effectively dead | 22:58:43 |
jopejoe1 (4094@39c3) | Here are the fix for that https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/464742 | 23:36:56 |
hexa | also worth checking if that's in the release wiki | 23:37:55 |
jopejoe1 (4094@39c3) | It's not in the wiki yet | 23:39:58 |
hexa | I think beta/stable is not a useful distinction for bugreports | 23:40:19 |
hexa | especially not if people create them within this month and then beta becomes stable 😄 | 23:40:32 |
hexa | but the issue remains valid | 23:40:44 |
hexa | no concrete idea, just some thought | 23:40:55 |
jopejoe1 (4094@39c3) | Same with a lot of other stuff that we found while doing the branch-off | 23:44:29 |
jopejoe1 (4094@39c3) | Currently too tired to realy think much about which makes more sense, and can still change it at a later point. | 23:48:07 |

vcunat |
quic patches on top that have been merged into openssl 3.5
IIRC the official openssl in the end integrated a different API for QUIC than quictls had.

vcunat | All the channels are up now. | 21:58:49 |
Tomodachi94 (they/them) | Just to clarify: breaking changes are okay now, right? | 22:21:45 |
Tomodachi94 (they/them) | * Just to clarify: breaking changes on master are okay now, right? | 22:21:59 |
Tomodachi94 (they/them) | Read a few messages above and it looks like a "yes" | 22:26:27 |
| 26 Nov 2025 |
jopejoe1 (4094@39c3) | Can confirm that your guess is correct ^^ | 07:13:33 |
| @corngood:corngood.com left the room. | 12:32:43 |
xanderio | It's probably to late to include dropping odoo 16 in 25.11? It's been out of support since september. https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/465241 | 12:43:05 |
vcunat | meta.knownVulnerabilities = [ "EOL explanation" ]; could be a middle ground. I've seen it used in nixpkgs sometimes. | 12:48:33 |
hexa | I think dropping it during beta is still viable, we have odoo 17 after all | 12:50:58 |
