if jvb is running, iirc it defaults to p2p for two or three participants and then switches to jvb
19:16:35
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusso… I think we don't have jvb19:16:51

@ctheune:matrix.flyingcircus.ioChristian TheuneWe disabled p2p completely a long time ago. (Back then p2p only worked for 1:1 sessions anyway) and jitsi would many times fail moving an existing room from p2p mode to jvb mode or back when the threshold was crossed either way.09:08:07
@ctheune:matrix.flyingcircus.ioChristian Theune * We disabled p2p on our instance completely a long time ago. @raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI'm using the release notes to do some note taking right now15:19:36
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI think the loss of the highlight section is really a shame15:19:43
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI need to read the source code to figure out the lacking information now15:19:54

@alejandrosame:matrix.org@alejandrosame:matrix.orgThere was no information lost, it was just moved around.06:07:37

Hmm but where is the systemd version information for example?

@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusright but it's kind of buried in the middle of the page right?15:13:59
@alejandrosame:matrix.org@alejandrosame:matrix.orgWhat you are experiencing is the same as anybody that didn't push their subset of interest into highlights in previous release notes. This was the reason why I wanted to make the infinite lists into headings that would show into a big table of contents. That would have increeased discoverability. Similar to how in books there's an index of topics/people mentioned.15:14:12
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusright15:14:49
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusbut I would dare to say that the upgrade of random leaf package cannot really be made on the same ground as upgrade of systemd15:15:10

You mentioned there was lacking info and there's no less lacking info than before.
15:15:14
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusor upgrade considerations of systemd15:15:14

yes I admit that the systemd upgrade is there
15:15:32
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusonly the 8th match of the page so I didn't use the release notes further because the curation of important packages ceased to exist imho15:15:57
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusand the lacking info is exactly the curation of important packages IMHO15:16:10
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezarius and look alejandrosame I appreciate your work and don't let this be a criticism of what you have done here 15:17:03
@alejandrosame:matrix.org@alejandrosame:matrix.orgBut the discoverability is a problem, indeed. Even on a future where release notes could be generated automatically the problem will move into proper tagging.15:17:22
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI think there are plenty of personas that you use the release notes and they have all their needs and it's super hard to find a cohesive way to address those many needs15:17:26
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusI am just giving my perspective as I used it quite successfully the previous RLs but this instance was much harder for me, and it doesn't seem to work well for me, no big deal, I know how to navigate nixpkgs15:17:55

Hey, I'm well aware. If I could have gone the extra mile, the summary at the beginning would have linked to the same entries. I'm not taking it personally :)
15:18:43
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusWhile I didn't notice any increase in support channel regarding hibernation problems, etc. I wonder if having systemd in the middle of the page could not lead to people missing the critical pieces of information we would like to pass on15:18:45

I think it's important to say it :P
15:19:05
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusEither case, modulo my bitching, I +1 you on the automatic generation15:19:31
@raitobezarius:matrix.orgraitobezariusAnd I wish we would have a "important" tagline or something15:19:37
@adam:robins.wtfadamcstephensthe release notes are unwieldy, and some prioritization or labels combined with sorting/filtering would help a lot15:21:14
