raitobezarius | I just spoke right now | 19:05:48 |
@julienmalka:matrix.org | People are talking | 19:05:48 |
@julienmalka:matrix.org | If you're not hearing anything it's a problem on your end | 19:05:57 |
raitobezarius | https://pad.lassul.us/release-2311-retrospective-notes?both for the retrospective link FWIW | 19:06:20 |
hexa | the jitsi app is utter garbage | 19:07:27 |
hexa | I hear notification sounds from it, but no transmitted audio from any of you | 19:07:38 |
hexa | have fun | 19:07:39 |
raitobezarius | sorry for you | 19:07:51 |
raitobezarius | we do speak | 19:07:54 |
Vladimír Čunát | Reconnecting can help with sound issues in jitsi, in my experience. | 19:12:06 |
Lily Foster | i can't join, but just curious, is it fully p2p or is jitsi videobridge / jvb (or whatever it is called) running | 19:14:52 |
raitobezarius | I think it's both depending on the situation but unclear to me | 19:15:49 |
Lily Foster | In reply to @raitobezarius:matrix.org I think it's both depending on the situation but unclear to me if jvb is running, iirc it defaults to p2p for two or three participants and then switches to jvb | 19:16:35 |
raitobezarius | so… I think we don't have jvb | 19:16:51 |
| 10 Dec 2023 |
Christian Theune | We disabled p2p completely a long time ago. (Back then p2p only worked for 1:1 sessions anyway) and jitsi would many times fail moving an existing room from p2p mode to jvb mode or back when the threshold was crossed either way. | 09:08:07 |
Christian Theune | * We disabled p2p on our instance completely a long time ago. (Back then p2p only worked for 1:1 sessions anyway) and jitsi would many times fail moving an existing room from p2p mode to jvb mode or back when the threshold was crossed either way. | 09:08:19 |

raitobezarius | I'm using the release notes to do some note taking right now | 15:19:36 |
raitobezarius | I think the loss of the highlight section is really a shame | 15:19:43 |
raitobezarius | I need to read the source code to figure out the lacking information now | 15:19:54 |
| 14 Dec 2023 |
@alejandrosame:matrix.org | There was no information lost, it was just moved around. | 06:07:37 |
raitobezarius | In reply to @alejandrosame:matrix.org There was no information lost, it was just moved around. Hmm but where is the systemd version information for example? | 11:39:31 |

raitobezarius | right but it's kind of buried in the middle of the page right? | 15:13:59 |
@alejandrosame:matrix.org | What you are experiencing is the same as anybody that didn't push their subset of interest into highlights in previous release notes.
This was the reason why I wanted to make the infinite lists into headings that would show into a big table of contents. That would have increeased discoverability. Similar to how in books there's an index of topics/people mentioned. | 15:14:12 |
raitobezarius | right | 15:14:49 |
raitobezarius | but I would dare to say that the upgrade of random leaf package cannot really be made on the same ground as upgrade of systemd | 15:15:10 |
@alejandrosame:matrix.org | In reply to @raitobezarius:matrix.org I need to read the source code to figure out the lacking information now You mentioned there was lacking info and there's no less lacking info than before. | 15:15:14 |
raitobezarius | or upgrade considerations of systemd | 15:15:14 |
raitobezarius | In reply to @alejandrosame:matrix.org You mentioned there was lacking info and there's no less lacking info than before. yes I admit that the systemd upgrade is there | 15:15:32 |
raitobezarius | only the 8th match of the page so I didn't use the release notes further because the curation of important packages ceased to exist imho | 15:15:57 |
