commiterate | the fluent-bit link against system libs flag is bait, it only works for some things (e.g. rdkafka, luajit) but not others (e.g. onigmo which is their regex engine) | 20:46:08 |

commiterate | interesting, Vector's built-in IMDS transform refreshes every 10s unlike fluent-bit which assumes IMDS data is immutable | 05:10:24 |

commiterate | I'm not sure if either of them are on vacation this week. Probably need to use the PhoneTool Calendar userscript or something else (meetings.amazon.com or use Outlook's scheduler) to see if they're in. | 18:51:04 |

commiterate | Any fluent-bit users interested in becoming maintainers for the fluent-bit package and (new) NixOS module? It effectively has no maintainers right now.
I was fixing this package + adding a NixOS module originally for NixOS and macOS EC2 instances but decided to swap to Vector instead.

Arian | I still don't really understand the point of amazon-ec2-net-utils. For me with the default networkd config any ENA I attach gets an IP address from DHCP. I don't understand why the source/dest policy routing stuff is needed either | 11:45:18 |
Arian | and the Ipv4 prefix delegation feature just seems broken | 11:45:24 |
Arian | like. Why isn't it just good enough for us to enable DHCP on each interface; get IPs; call it a day | 11:45:41 |
Arian | why do we need this whole event driven thingimabob with policy routes. I don't understand. maybe i'm too peanut-brained | 11:45:59 |
