alejandrosame | Meeting point is Magdalenenstraße 12 at 18:00 (6pm). I'm heading out in 4 min from the center | 15:39:14 |
asymmetric | Sweet I’ll be there, I’m at Felix | 15:43:40 |
alejandrosame | Oh same, if you haven't left yet. I can meet you at the entrance. (I squeezed a couple of minutes cause my battery is low) | 15:49:15 |
asymmetric | Sure I’m outside | 15:50:15 |
asymmetric | Leaving now as it’s a bit late, see you there or you catch up? :) | 15:52:41 |
alejandrosame | I'll catch you on the way | 15:53:18 |
alejandrosame | No need to wait hehe | 15:53:25 |
asymmetric | I’ve arrived, you gonna be here soon? | 16:10:03 |

asymmetric | New (?) personal Nix (Flakes) documentation project dropped https://nixos-and-flakes.thiscute.world/ | 11:16:47 |
ryantm | I just updated https://ryantm.github.io/nixpkgs/ going to look through it now. I think https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/108063 is much more palatable to merge into nixpkgs now. It barely touches the /doc folder. | 11:21:22 |
ryantm | I had to add some extra code to make the evaluation pass. https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/108063/commits/0fe30b31435ef2926599de81827d0d4ec25c05db because some (deprecated) library functions print warnings during evaluation. | 15:57:54 |

@olafklingt:matrix.org | I started this PR long ago. i looked at it again and i am not sure if it makes sense.
If someone can have a look and give some general comments about what seems valuable to them, I might find the motivation to update it to the current nixos testing interface.
https://github.com/NixOS/nix.dev/pull/305/files | 10:16:28 |
proofconstruction | Great! Will take a look today | 13:28:31 |
fricklerhandwerk | Already merged it. Let’s fix forward. 🚀 | 13:56:58 |
@mightyiam:matrix.org | Update: some progress on the doctester. | 14:02:27 |
proofconstruction | Anybody joining the meeting this morning? It's open | 14:03:54 |
fricklerhandwerk | I’ll pass, NixCon recovery period. | 14:05:52 |
@olafklingt:matrix.org | does the pr/branch preview work already? | 15:54:50 |
@olafklingt:matrix.org | I opened another pr regarding tests, to propose a client server test.
Its marked as draft because I just wrote it.
But i would like to know if people agree that this would be a good replacement for the current complex example.

asymmetric | Does anyone have feedback on this (upcoming) pr? https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/compare/master...asymmetric:nixpkgs:doc-support-tiers-redux#diff-96cbd30c28f7a0a20494c54ec04b6fd108277f7f7ca3f90e17477825e054f301
It's meant to be a stopgap, while /someone/ figures out the current list of platforms for each of the 7 tiers. I remember such a minimal approach was proposed by infinisil in a team call a few weeks ago

It's meant to be a stopgap, while /someone/ figures out the current list of platforms for each of the 7 tiers. I attempted to do that here but I don't think it will be done anytime soon.

infinisil | asymmetric:
Currently, the x86_64-linux platform receives the highest level of support, meaning that every platform-compatible package in Nixpkgs must successfully build in the Hydra and OfBorg CIs before a package can be introduced or updated.
This doesn't seem right, packages are also allowed to breakn on x86_64-linux
| 16:33:42 |
infinisil | Otherwise this looks pretty good as a minimal platform documentation to me! | 16:33:57 |
asymmetric | Good point. How would you describe the support x86_64-linux receives? | 16:35:12 |
asymmetric | I'll create the PR and tag you, so we can discuss there | 16:44:55 |

asymmetric | PSA: i'm gonna take all the PRs under "postponed" that are merged, and move them to done | 12:44:53 |
