@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetric Sure I’m outside 15:50:15
@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetricLeaving now as it’s a bit late, see you there or you catch up? :)15:52:41
@alejandrosame:matrix.orgalejandrosameI'll catch you on the way15:53:18
@alejandrosame:matrix.orgalejandrosameNo need to wait hehe15:53:25
@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetricI’ve arrived, you gonna be here soon?16:10:03

@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetricNew (?) personal Nix (Flakes) documentation project dropped https://nixos-and-flakes.thiscute.world/11:16:47
@ryantm:matrix.orgryantmI just updated https://ryantm.github.io/nixpkgs/ going to look through it now. I think https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/108063 is much more palatable to merge into nixpkgs now. It barely touches the /doc folder.11:21:22
@ryantm:matrix.orgryantmI had to add some extra code to make the evaluation pass. https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/108063/commits/0fe30b31435ef2926599de81827d0d4ec25c05db because some (deprecated) library functions print warnings during evaluation.15:57:54

@olafklingt:matrix.org@olafklingt:matrix.orgI started this PR long ago. i looked at it again and i am not sure if it makes sense. If someone can have a look and give some general comments about what seems valuable to them, I might find the motivation to update it to the current nixos testing interface. https://github.com/NixOS/nix.dev/pull/305/files 10:16:28
@proofconstruction:matrix.orgproofconstruction Great! Will take a look today 13:28:31
@fricklerhandwerk:matrix.orgfricklerhandwerkAlready merged it. Let’s fix forward. 🚀13:56:58
@mightyiam:matrix.org@mightyiam:matrix.orgUpdate: some progress on the doctester.14:02:27
@proofconstruction:matrix.orgproofconstructionAnybody joining the meeting this morning? It's open14:03:54
@fricklerhandwerk:matrix.orgfricklerhandwerkI’ll pass, NixCon recovery period.14:05:52
@olafklingt:matrix.org@olafklingt:matrix.orgdoes the pr/branch preview work already? 15:54:50
@olafklingt:matrix.org@olafklingt:matrix.orgI opened another pr regarding tests, to propose a client server test. Its marked as draft because I just wrote it. But i would like to know if people agree that this would be a good replacement for the current complex example. https://github.com/NixOS/nix.dev/pull/725 16:23:09
@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetric

Does anyone have feedback on this (upcoming) pr? https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/compare/master...asymmetric:nixpkgs:doc-support-tiers-redux#diff-96cbd30c28f7a0a20494c54ec04b6fd108277f7f7ca3f90e17477825e054f301

It's meant to be a stopgap, while /someone/ figures out the current list of platforms for each of the 7 tiers. I remember such a minimal approach was proposed by infinisil in a team call a few weeks ago

It's meant to be a stopgap, while /someone/ figures out the current list of platforms for each of the 7 tiers. I attempted to do that here but I don't think it will be done anytime soon.

@infinisil:matrix.orginfinisil

asymmetric:

Currently, the x86_64-linux platform receives the highest level of support, meaning that every platform-compatible package in Nixpkgs must successfully build in the Hydra and OfBorg CIs before a package can be introduced or updated.

This doesn't seem right, packages are also allowed to breakn on x86_64-linux

16:33:42
@infinisil:matrix.orginfinisilOtherwise this looks pretty good as a minimal platform documentation to me!16:33:57
@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetric Good point. How would you describe the support x86_64-linux receives? 16:35:12
@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetricI'll create the PR and tag you, so we can discuss there16:44:55

@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetricPSA: i'm gonna take all the PRs under "postponed" that are merged, and move them to done12:44:53
@asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.ukasymmetric does anything speak against archiving all the done tasks? fricklerhandwerk / zmitchell do you look there sometimes for highlights? Or do you keep manual tabs? 12:50:42

The monthly updates collect all merged PRs, so we don’t need the closed issues.
