proofconstruction | We decided last week to make the Learning Journey Working Group meetings every-other-week instead of every week, but the calendar hasn't been updated to reflect that yet. Today's Documentation Team meeting is probably not going to happen due to NixCon preparations, so we'll pick that back up on Monday. | 14:15:43 |
@mightyiam:matrix.org | Sorry for not showing up for this one. As soon as I have more time, I'll continue working on publishing the doctester CLI. | 14:22:27 |
proofconstruction | Last week we also had some trouble with the new Jitsi Meet changes requiring an authenticated user to open a meeting. In case anybody wants to jump in and chat about/work on docs or anything else, I've authenticated and have opened the usual room for the Documentation Team meetings, and will keep it open (and be available to work/chat for the next 10 hours or so, with a few brief breaks for other scheduled calls). | 14:22:34 |
asymmetric | Is anyone already in town for NixCon? If so let me know, I just arrived and would be up for food+drinks :) | 15:27:40 |

alejandrosame | In reply to @asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.uk Is anyone already in town for NixCon? If so let me know, I just arrived and would be up for food+drinks :) I just arrived too and I'll join the UNESCO heritage tour at 18:00 that was posted in the NixCon room. | 15:32:52 |
fricklerhandwerk | In reply to @asymmetric:matrix.dapp.org.uk Is anyone already in town for NixCon? If so let me know, I just arrived and would be up for food+drinks :) I'm here but I'll be at a company event | 15:33:12 |
asymmetric | Oh wow, I didn’t know! How do I join? And what’s the NixCon room (invite me plz?) | 15:33:42 |
alejandrosame | One sec! | 15:34:38 |

alejandrosame | Meeting point is Magdalenenstraße 12 at 18:00 (6pm). I'm heading out in 4 min from the center | 15:39:14 |
asymmetric | Sweet I’ll be there, I’m at Felix | 15:43:40 |
alejandrosame | Oh same, if you haven't left yet. I can meet you at the entrance. (I squeezed a couple of minutes cause my battery is low) | 15:49:15 |
asymmetric | Sure I’m outside | 15:50:15 |
asymmetric | Leaving now as it’s a bit late, see you there or you catch up? :) | 15:52:41 |
alejandrosame | I'll catch you on the way | 15:53:18 |
alejandrosame | No need to wait hehe | 15:53:25 |
asymmetric | I’ve arrived, you gonna be here soon? | 16:10:03 |

asymmetric | New (?) personal Nix (Flakes) documentation project dropped https://nixos-and-flakes.thiscute.world/ | 11:16:47 |
ryantm | I just updated https://ryantm.github.io/nixpkgs/ going to look through it now. I think https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/108063 is much more palatable to merge into nixpkgs now. It barely touches the /doc folder. | 11:21:22 |
ryantm | I had to add some extra code to make the evaluation pass. https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/108063/commits/0fe30b31435ef2926599de81827d0d4ec25c05db because some (deprecated) library functions print warnings during evaluation. | 15:57:54 |

@olafklingt:matrix.org | I started this PR long ago. i looked at it again and i am not sure if it makes sense.
If someone can have a look and give some general comments about what seems valuable to them, I might find the motivation to update it to the current nixos testing interface.
https://github.com/NixOS/nix.dev/pull/305/files | 10:16:28 |
proofconstruction | Great! Will take a look today | 13:28:31 |
fricklerhandwerk | Already merged it. Let’s fix forward. 🚀 | 13:56:58 |
@mightyiam:matrix.org | Update: some progress on the doctester. | 14:02:27 |
proofconstruction | Anybody joining the meeting this morning? It's open | 14:03:54 |
fricklerhandwerk | I’ll pass, NixCon recovery period. | 14:05:52 |
@olafklingt:matrix.org | does the pr/branch preview work already? | 15:54:50 |
@olafklingt:matrix.org | I opened another pr regarding tests, to propose a client server test.
Its marked as draft because I just wrote it.
But i would like to know if people agree that this would be a good replacement for the current complex example.

| 16:23:09 |
asymmetric | Does anyone have feedback on this (upcoming) pr? https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/compare/master...asymmetric:nixpkgs:doc-support-tiers-redux#diff-96cbd30c28f7a0a20494c54ec04b6fd108277f7f7ca3f90e17477825e054f301
It's meant to be a stopgap, while /someone/ figures out the current list of platforms for each of the 7 tiers. I remember such a minimal approach was proposed by infinisil in a team call a few weeks ago
