In theory maybe but in practice it will get less and less likely that potential contributors will see your idea and discuss about it since the discussions start today so probably not.

That explains stuff, I reed it as you wanting to mentor because you are already a active Nix/OS contributor for half a year and part of the rfc steering committee.
