| benluiwj | Hello, my name is Benjamin and I am currently a year 4 computer science undergrad at the National University of Singapore (NUS). I have interned at a local trading company and that sparked my interest in the system side of computers. I am quite interested in the underlying implementations of computer systems as well as distributed systems. I am currently working on a static program analyzer as a school project. I am quite new to Nix but I believe I can pick it up quite quickly. I am interested in "nixpkgs library networking functions" project. I have some questions regarding the project:
- What are the end goals of this project?
- Is converting what we currently have to use some form of typing instead of strings be a good stepping stone for this project?
- Is it possible to rewrite https://github.com/python/cpython/blob/3.12/Lib/ipaddress.py in Nix? What are some features that it does not have that we should have?

| @ninio_artillero:kde.org | Greetings everyone! I'll go for my #introduction : I'm a mathematics bachelor doing a PhD in music technology. My way into the Tidal Cycles (music live coding system) code base happily brought me into Haskell and functional programming. Currently I daily drive NixOS on my laptop and have been using nix-shell to share a development environment for my own Haskell live coding music library with my advisors.
I find Nix's scope and principles are very engaging. I think reproducibility, simple mathematical denotation and full source bootstrapabilty are the wayforward for the software development.
I'm not a programmer by trade, but am sure I can contribute something meaninful. I'll dig into the ideas and work on a suitable proposal.
