@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYAnyone knows what's the fix?16:04:24
@makuru:catgirl.cloudMakuruhttps://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel#kernel.org_kernels Huh, according to archlinux, there are two bleeding edge kernels, one cutting edge and the other for cutting edge gpu?16:05:01
@makuru:catgirl.cloudMakuruConfused16:05:04
@k900:0upti.meK900Those are all just integration git trees16:05:34
@k900:0upti.meK900 Not official releases 16:05:39
@k900:0upti.meK900At least post the actual error log16:06:19
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYFrom?16:06:29
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYYou need logs of heroic or nix or what?16:06:57
@makuru:catgirl.cloudMakuru both? 16:07:09
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDY Nix package manager does not gives me any errors it does install it right, i can also find the installed path in nix store, but i can't use it even if i copy. Or i tried another way like copying the original files from their github which doesn't work either.
And their support says to come at nixos server when i mentioned nixos.
16:08:54
@k900:0upti.meK900 You should not use NixOS packaged Proton with Heroic generally 16:09:38
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDY And if i choose the wine/proton from heroic which i copied to the heroic path dot config/heroic/tools/wine it gives me "wine invalid path". 16:10:04
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYYes right i do know but i also tried other way like downloading the version from their website which also didn't worked.16:10:32
@k900:0upti.meK900Also are you on 25.05 or 25.11?16:10:49
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYBut chaotic's cachyos-proton worked before but how i can't remember sorry.16:10:57
@k900:0upti.meK900 25.11 should have significantly less wonky heroic packaging 16:11:03
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDY20.05, stable branch.16:11:08
@k900:0upti.meK900Do you mean 25.0516:11:19
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYYes i installed 25.11 as heroics package manager person said in heroic server from nixos's unstable branch.16:11:51
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYYes sorry for typo16:12:03
@k900:0upti.meK900Do you mean you just installed Heroic from 25.1216:12:08
@k900:0upti.meK900 * 16:12:12
@k900:0upti.meK900 Or your entire system 16:12:15
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYMy system is on stable and heroic is pulled from unstable, this is what i was tying to say16:12:37
@k900:0upti.meK900Yeah that will probably not work well16:13:32
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDYBy the way if 25.11 heroic version is less wonky package then why it's not updated in 25.05?16:13:42
@linux-daddy:beeper.comLinux DADDY Well it does work "probably" I'm not am expert here, but heroic does work with latest heroic version. 16:14:25
@k900:0upti.meK900 Because it involves a significant amount of breaking systemwide changes 16:14:58
