 KC | Hi all, I've been having some issues with my GPU and gpu-screen-recorder. I'm on a desktop with AMD gpu, RX 6650 XT. When I send pkill -SIGUSR1 -f gpu-screen-recorder to the replay mode process, it does save a recording, but then goes into some sort of stuck loop with the following message:
Mar 16 14:18:33 nixos-desktop gpu-screen-recorder[7083]: gsr error: gsr_kms_client_get_kms: failed to receive response
Mar 16 14:18:33 nixos-desktop gpu-screen-recorder[7083]: gsr error: failed to get kms, error: 4 (failed to receive)
It does that until it gets manually stopped and is unable to record anything. I've tried both running with and without boot.initrd.kernelModules = [ "amdgpu" ];. gpu-screen-recorder is running as a systemd service unit. gsr-kms-server is in /sw/bin.  kslad | Typically I just do the mangohud/gamemoderun stuff listed in the post. I had initially wanted to globally set up gamescope and pass some args to it (--force-grab-cursor) but that appears to not be possible via this method. I guess I don't mind doing that per game also though, some games capture the cursor when they should, other games do not unless they're fullscreen | 02:07:20 |

I can't seem to find it anymore but I swear I remember seeing something the other day about setting default launch arguments for steam when setting up programs.steam. Don't see the option anywhere though. Did I dream that? i have some for my steam but for what exactly? to use mangohud? | 22:45:05 |
