L14m | Hi there, does somebody have knowledge with wine and can help me please? I'm using the nix-citizen flake for Star Citizen (SC) and my HOTAS behaves strange. I'm also in discussion with the LUG and the maintainer, but we didn't found a solution.
The problem is, that if I'm using the normal wine-astral my X56 gets detected with an additional duplicate (4 entries in joy.cpl). The first entry of my throttle and stick are not working, only the second ones. SC seems to grab the ghost devices and nothing is working.
If I'm switching to Umu the HOTAS is detected correctly with only 2 entries (one for throttle and another one for stick), but if I put the throttle to 100% SC only detects 50%.
With the flatpak version of SC (which uses Umu) nothing gets detected by joy.cpl (--device=all is applied).

L14m | Can someone look into the nix-citizen repo to find out, what is causing this (I don't have enough knowledge to understand this completly)? | 15:59:17 |

K900 | No | 04:37:33 |
Crony Akatsuki (balkan/slav) | You need to load ntsync kernel module, on nixos it isn't loaded by default | 18:17:09 |
nyanbinary 🏳️⚧️ | Is there a plan to do that :p | 20:10:46 |
K900 | Not until Valve does | 21:49:06 |

pringles | Anyone got the canary version of ryujinx or the nightly version of eden (nintendo switch emulators) running on nixOS? I see the available packages only distribute the stable version and I couldnt get the more up to date versions to build so far | 23:27:07 |

pringles | I managed to get ryujinx canary running thru the app image after tweaking the app image extra packages to include ICU and doing a reboot | 00:34:30 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | where did you get the appimage from? | 00:39:52 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | i got ryujinx canary running basically by replacing the entire package with an overlay | 00:40:56 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | since overrideAttrs cant change the dotnet version | 00:41:14 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | or maybe it can idk | 00:41:18 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | with regular override to change an input idfk | 00:41:29 |
pringles | I had stumbled into that exact issue! But I was struggling to figure out how to overlay it to make it work, so I tried some other solutions | 00:50:35 |
pringles | Downloaded it directly from the repo, latest canary release. I was worried it would have a lot of dependencies but after trying it with appimage-run it only complained about ICU. I added that as in the additional packages section here: https://wiki.nixos.org/wiki/Appimage. Then after a reboot it actually ran just fine | 00:52:05 |

ranidspace (they/it/xe) | huh i thought they closed down non-maintainer access to repo | 01:27:31 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | a certain tomodachi life released and required a canary version of ryujinx and so many people downloaded it the servers started crashing | 01:29:04 |
ranidspace (they/it/xe) | the discord went from 30k to 80k in a day | 01:29:22 |
pringles | You can still get releases, just the repo itself is only a readme file. But each release includes the source too | 09:12:56 |
pringles | And damn! Thats actually the game I was testing out, guess things are back up by now? | 09:14:05 |
