@viq:hackerspace.plviqHa, looks like SDL2-compat doesn't like what steam Dwarf Fortress is doing with it https://github.com/DFHack/dfhack/issues/568922:16:07

@misha:pub.solarmishaHi all. I have been out of the gaming loop for a long time, and I just had a flashback to Diablo II. So I thought why don't I try to install and play Diablo II resurrected. 02:26:56
@misha:pub.solarmishaI have tried some of the set-ups I could find online, but none of them seem to work...02:27:16
@misha:pub.solarmishaIs there anyone here that has managed to successfully install battle.net on NixOS? 02:27:29
@misha:pub.solarmishaIf so, could you maybe help me figure it out?02:27:37
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobilicious misha: I use Heroic, and point it to proton provided from Steam, it seems to work pretty well for managing prefixes for non-steam games. And it's sort of less ugly than just adding the launcher to Steam at trying to get it to work that way. 03:19:22
@normalcea:matrix.org@normalcea:matrix.org left the room.03:42:24
@misha:pub.solarmishaThanks. 04:12:07
@misha:pub.solarmishaI tried to install Heroic and steam, but I feel I'm punching a bit above my weight.04:12:33
@misha:pub.solarmishaDo you have config files to share?04:12:42
@misha:pub.solarmishaMy general conclusion after a full night trying to get battle.net working: "it's still quite hard to get games working on Linux 😪".04:13:48

@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobilicious Oh you don't already have Steam? might not be the best solution for you then misha as you need an account and Steam only downloads proton as a depedency of games, if you have no games, you get no proton IIRC 04:52:23
@quadradical:federated.nexusQuadRadical (Ping) not most games, its really easy to use heroic for epic, gog, amazon, and zoom games 04:53:27
@quadradical:federated.nexusQuadRadical (Ping)and steam also works perfectly04:53:38
@quadradical:federated.nexusQuadRadical (Ping)im not super aware of how battle net works04:53:46
@quadradical:federated.nexusQuadRadical (Ping)maybe lutris can help? or just sideload the battlenet launcher onto heroic04:54:14
@quadradical:federated.nexusQuadRadical (Ping)if you need help with heroic feel free to ping me04:54:23
@quadradical:federated.nexusQuadRadical (Ping)ill probably take on maintainership of the nix packages for heroic soonTM04:54:42
@k900:0upti.meK900 IME just launching Battle.net with Proton/UMU works perfectly fine 05:29:59
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobiliciousI just noticed I still had copies of wine v6 in my lutris folder that heroic was detecting05:32:30
@badcold:kde.orgbadcoldYes, maybe not the best path but I succeeded by: 1. installing Battle.net via steam by using the installer as a "non-steam game" + compatibility "Proton Experimental" 2. finding the wine prefix it was installed into 3. changing the steam "target" by the path to the launcher in that prefix.14:17:50
@lenny:flipdot.orgLenny. changed their display name from Lenny. to Lenny. ☎️5665.14:24:21
@misha:pub.solarmishaCan you maybe share your setup?14:55:43
