What if you boot a older revision?
Well I was already on a revision that used to work and it seems it just broke itself, I didn’t update my system between last week and today morning

@eyjhb:eyjhb.dkeyJhbAh. Fun 😅15:16:33
@k900:0upti.meK900 Why wouldn't it? 15:17:59
@k900:0upti.meK900It definitely would15:18:09
@luana:catgirl.cloudLuana 🏳️‍🌈Proton hotfix seems to work for Spiritfarer I’ll just use it and forget about it until it breaks again I guess15:20:24
@luana:catgirl.cloudLuana 🏳️‍🌈Old me used to like troubleshooting but these days I really just want to play my games15:21:03

When a game stops working, I usually just switch the proton thing, and hope it starts working.

@codebam:fedora.imSean does anyone know how to get controller to work in monster hunter wilds? if I LD_PRELOAD="" controller doesn't work, and if I don't the game stutters and freezes after 20-40 mins 01:04:28
@codebam:fedora.imSeanI think it's because they use the steam input api for controller support01:05:08
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobiliciousI've had stuttering after 30mins before, issue was 32bit games running on inode64 file system causing issues with steam overlay03:17:31
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobilicious Sean: But it would be weird if a current year release was using 32bit dll's 03:29:39
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobilicious Sean: if you're on AMD check this out 03:32:32
@codebam:fedora.imSeanthank you but I think this is the issue I'm encountering, especially since their fix works (but breaks controller support) https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/1144604:19:27

@k900:0upti.meK900Which means https://github.com/NixOS/nixpkgs/pull/387292 should be good to test now19:17:10
@k900:0upti.meK900Also, unrelated, https://www.supergoodcode.com/znvk/19:57:55

@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuIt's been a while since I've done it but has building mesa always been this ..much?11:07:16
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuI remembered that it was actually a rather quick build; did that change?11:07:33
@k900:0upti.meK900It's pretty quick for me still 11:08:51
@k900:0upti.meK900Like 5 minutes11:08:56
@k900:0upti.meK900 That's for Mesa itself. 11:09:10
@k900:0upti.meK900Not counting the reverse closure 11:09:15
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemu Oh yeah of course, that's gotten so much better thanks to your efforts 11:09:31
@adam_neverwas:matrix.orgAdam Neverwas set their display name to Adam Neverwas.14:27:31
@devintech:matrix.orgdevintechTrying to install a game from gog, the installer tells me that nixos doesn't do the stnd library path thing and sends me here. https://nix.dev/guides/faq#how-to-run-non-nix-executables What's the best path for handling applications like this? Does anyone have an example?17:04:31

Does anyone have an example? Is there a way to add any additional sandbox or protections around proprietary apps as well? Limiting what directories it could interact with, etc.17:05:42
@k900:0upti.meK900That's correct17:08:10
