@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoexcept it happened once20:50:03
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccobut I can't get it to happen again20:50:06
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerricco * except it happened once (in gnome)20:50:18
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerricco * I have a second user on this system specifically for testing out plasma. At first, it seemed like it didn't happen on plasma (wayland), but then I logged this user into gnome (wayland) and it's not happening here either.20:50:26
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoso I'm not confident it wouldn't have happened in plasma, but it's weird either way20:50:45
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoand now it won't reproduce in my regular user either. Ugh21:02:26

m e s a?..
Hmph. I tried to downgrade it with hardware.graphics.package(32) and the system has fallen back to software rendering
06:33:39
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobilicious ElvishJerricco: could be a bug in libinput, my app takes directly from evdev, though I do drop sync events so prehaps there's something going on with that. 07:33:00
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoyea... I'm actually rebuilding the world against a downgraded libinput right now07:33:30
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerricconoticed a libinput update in between the last working generation and the current one07:33:45
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobiliciousHmm, I'm on v1.25.0, and just started noticing my issue this month.07:47:33
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccothis only started happening after a nixos update that brought me from 1.25.0 to 1.26.007:59:17
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoso it might not be libinput07:59:22
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccobut I'm rebuilding the world to try it anyway :P07:59:30
@woobilicious:matrix.orgwoobiliciousI did that once with linux-utils08:00:18

Yeah enjoy the libgbm thing
08:09:39
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoyea, I was hoping to get away with it :P08:09:59
@elvishjerricco:matrix.orgElvishJerriccoit didn't work, I guess08:10:03

Speaking of which: https://www.supergoodcode.com/long-road-to-DRIL/
08:35:01
@k900:0upti.meK900That's actually not really solving the problem we're having08:35:17
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuYeah but it seems upstream mesa is at least interested to have multiple Mesa versions work with another to some degree08:35:42
@k900:0upti.meK900I think they're more interested in not having to touch the DRI ABI08:35:56
@k900:0upti.meK900Which is honestly very understandable08:36:02
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuI meant the second part of that post08:36:10
@k900:0upti.meK900Yeah that doesn't really help the libgbm situation unfortunately08:40:17
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuYup 08:40:35
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuIt's a departure from "all components of mesa must come from the same source" though08:40:51
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuPerhaps we can get upstream to care about libGBM too08:41:06
