@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧I just stream my desktop and then open steam and from there the game in windowed mode16:00:10
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧* I just stream my desktop and then open steam and from there the game in borderless window16:00:19
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧oh, libkscreen 🤔16:00:43

maybe I can do something with kscreen-doctor and convince it to not turn off the virtual monitor or something
For idling? I've been using this, works great: https://github.com/rafaelrc7/wayland-pipewire-idle-inhibit
16:46:27
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧Ideally I would like something to wake it up via ssh to save some power when I don't use it16:48:52
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧It doesn't go to sleep when playing, i just can't wake it up when it was setting there for a few hours16:49:34
@k900:0upti.meK900Wake on LAN?16:49:49
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧Works, that's how I wake him up17:23:26
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧 But if I disconnect for 20 minutes, than I need to reboot because the monitor sad goodbye. 17:23:46
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧Yep, I could force to stay on but being able to wake it up, would also be nice17:24:07
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuYou might want a second "monitor" via dummy plug then17:25:41
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧I have that, it behaves the same17:26:57
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧I suspect I need to disable power features for it 🤔🤔17:27:09
@sandro:supersandro.deSandro 🐧I need to take a closer look at that later17:27:19

And yeah Cosmic is doing the same unfortunately
After running cosmic for the first time since February, I'm delighted to see they've added a third mode that behaves like kwin6's "let the application scale itself" 🎊
11:55:34
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzSo the default is still what most compositors have been doing for years, then there is a mode that behaves like Gnome Mutter's "X11 native scaling", and yet another that behaves like KDE's "X11 native scaling"11:56:34
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuHow is cosmic for gaming these days?13:19:29
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuDoes it implement VRR and stuff?13:19:42
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuThe only compositor to implement that halfway decently is kwin unfortunately13:20:18
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzit does now yeah!13:42:07
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzonly thing missing for me is HDR13:42:10
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzthen it's pretty much on par with kwin613:42:16
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzbut afaik HDR is on the post-1.0 roadmap13:42:38
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzI have yet to try how reliably VRR works, might do that later13:43:04
@atemu12:matrix.orgAtemuDoes LFC work properly? Like, with cursors and such?13:44:59
@niklaskorz:matrix.orgniklaskorzI do not know what LFC stands for and neither does the internet, apparently13:49:11
