@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rb

Hm so i bought a 9070xt and playing clair obscur e33, i see that the gpu reports being at 80% capacity, yet its only using less than a third of its power budget. It also just turned off its fans. That seems like its not running at full blast. I can think of two reasons:

  1. Im running this on a 620w PSU even though the recommended value is 700w
  2. Im running this on a ryzen 5 2600x

Do you guys know of a way to debug this?

08:21:56
@marienz:matrix.orgmarienznot the former (the GPU doesn't know the wattage of the PSU, if it attempts to draw more power than the PSU can deliver you get system instability). Possibly the latter, especially if you see at least one CPU core running at 100% utilization.08:28:44
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbNope cpus are at 60ish%08:29:21
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rb The mangohud gpu reported wattage doesnt go over 110w. Max is 304 supposedly 08:31:03
@marienz:matrix.orgmarienzalso, system requirements for that game don't look that steep: with vsync / frame limiter there may just not be more work for the gpu to do (are you experiencing noticeable performance problems or just wanting to make sure you get full value from your GPU?)08:31:53
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbKinda latter. I did bump the graphics down from epic to high yesterday cause it was dropping frames08:33:07
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbShould try something much worse then, cyberpunk would do i assume08:33:38
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbYeah it just dipped down to 45 :/08:34:10
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbThough might just UE5 being shit dunno08:34:20
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbI wanted to test cyberpunk on this anyway, lets see08:35:39
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbThis testing is done on jovian btw, so i think radv08:37:30
@k900:0upti.meK900I bet you're CPU limited tbh08:51:41
@k900:0upti.meK900Look at per core utilization08:51:43
@k900:0upti.meK900Not just overall08:51:46
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbIt doesnt go over 60%09:03:16
@magic_rb:matrix.redalder.orgmagic_rbIm looking at per core09:03:22
